About
The Press Trust of India (PTI) is India's leading
news agency, with a reach as extensive as the
Indian Railways. It has over 400 journalists and
500 stringers working for it to cover almost
every district and small town in India. They
publish over 2,000 stories and 200 photographs
per day to satisfy the diverse subscribers, who
include the mainstream media, specialised
presses, research groups, corporations, and
government and non-governmental
organisations.

PTI correspondents are also located in major


capitals as well as important business and
administrative centres around the world. It also
has exchange agreements with a number of
foreign news agencies in order to broaden its
global news footprint.

PTI currently controls 90% of the new agency


market in India.

PTI was founded in 1947 and began operations


in 1949. Today, after 65 years of service, PTI can
truly be proud of the legacy of its work and its
contribution to the development of a free and
fair press in India.

I worked with the Bangalore team of Mediawire.


My internship for the first month was in the
work form office orientation. Hence I shifted to
Bangalore for the first month. The following
month was in work from home orientation.
