5.0 REPORT

5.1 INTRODUCTION OF THE BUILDING

The ground floor of the Civil Department Building, which is the lowest level for this department, is where
the civil engineering department stairs are located. Stairs are primarily used to provide a quick and easy
way to transition between levels.

5.2 PRACTICAL PROCEDURE

1. Determine the location of the protected stair inspection

2. Compute the total quantity of risers.

3. Determine the size of the staircase using the measuring tape. Find the size of :-
 Riser
 Treads
 Width

4. Collect the result and data of inspection.

5.3 DISCUSSION
Relate Consistently The Data/Result To The Standard Procedure
(Law & Regulation-UBBL/MS/BS)

Referring to UBBL 1984, discuss the compliance of staircase to related clause as below
• 108(1) –No of riser not more than sixteen in a landing
• 106(1) –Riser not more than 180mm
--Treads not less than 255mm
• 181 --One unit of exit width min 552@550mm
5.4CONCLUSIONS
Conclude the dataresult
As a conclusion, the civil engineering department ground floor staircase is
comply to UBBL 1984-CLAUSES .
