AISC: American institute of steel construction


Is a not-for-profit technical institute and trade association for the use of structural
steel in the construction industry of the United States.

AISI: American iron and steel institute


Is an association of North American steel producers. With its predecessor
organizations, it is one of the oldest trade associations in the United States, dating
back to 1855. It assumed its present form in 1908, with Judge Elbert H. Gary,
chairman of the United States Steel Corporation, as its first president.

ANSI: American national standards institute


Is a private non-profit organization that oversees the development of voluntary
consensus standards for products, services, processes, systems, and personnel in
the United States.

ASM:American society for metals


Is an association of materials-centric engineers and scientists. ASM is dedicated to
informing, educating, and connecting the materials community to solve problems and
stimulate innovation around the world.

ASME:American society of mechanical engineers


Is an American professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art,
science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the
globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and
standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other
forms of outreach."

ASTM: American society for Testing and materials


is an international standards organization that develops and publishes voluntary
technical standards agreements for a wide range of materials, products, systems
and services.

AFBMA: American bearing manufacturers association


Is an industry trade group that deals with all aspects of bearing technology.
ISO: International organization for standardization
Is an international standard-setting body composed of representatives from various
national standards organizations.

NIST: National institute of standards and technology


Is a physical sciences laboratory and non-regulatory agency of the United States
Department of Commerce. Its mission is to promote American innovation and
industrial competitiveness. NIST's activities are organized into laboratory programs
that include nanoscale science and technology, engineering, information technology,
neutron research, material measurement, and physical measurement.

SAE: Society of Automotive Engineers


Is a United States-based, globally active professional association and standards
developing organization for engineering professionals in various industries.

Mexican Official Standards (NOM)


Are technical regulations of mandatory observance issued by the competent
agencies, whose purpose is to establish the characteristics that processes or
services must meet when they may constitute a risk to the safety of persons or harm
human health, as well as those related to terminology and those that refer to their
compliance and application.
