Week 1:

1. Do you come from a large or a small family?

I come from a small family. I live with my parents and my older sister. We used to
live with our grandparents, uncles, and aunts many years ago. But now we have a
nuclear family because we live in a small town far away from our grandparent’s
house.

2. Whom do you get on best within your family? Why is that?

My mom is the closest to me. I think it is because my mom has been raising me since
childhood and she is with me most of the time, so she will understand my personality
very well. Besides, my mom is very emotional; I always share everything with her,
and she also gives me advice and supports me a lot.

3. What do you enjoy doing when you spend time with your family?

I spend most of my free time with my family so there are a lot of interesting activities
I enjoy doing with my family. I love to have meals together and share everything that
is happening in our life. I also like to travel to different places and watch movies
together after having dinner. We often arrange a party and invite our relatives and
neighbors. I often run in the morning with my father and go shopping with my mom.
We understand that spending quality time with our family is very important.

4. Do you often have big family gatherings? Can you say something about them?
Describe: - Is a peaceful small village

- The traffic jam and accidents are
always can happen.
- The air is quite not clearly
- There is no sense of community
- There are a lot of facilities nearby
- Goods are expensive
- Crime problems also happen often
Describe: - Many people are buying the
closest in a normal market with lots of
goods.
Advantages: - Diversity of different goods
at cheap price
- Comfortable choosing suitable
clothes for themselves and easy to
try them on.
- The sellers here are enthusiastic
- The quality of foods product is fresh
and safe
- Suitable for everyone to buy
Disadvantages: - the way to purchase just
by cash
- The space is small, narrow, and
doesn’t have a fitting room.
- Security is not good, customers can
be robbed and stole money.
- The goods like housewares and
types of equipment haven’t been
tested before sold
- The items like clothes, shoes… are
not as good as in the shopping mall.
In contrast: - Picture 2 also has many
people going shopping to buy goods but in
a shopping mall
- Also diversity of different goods
- The quality of clothing items is
perfect
- Have tested before sold
- Have many local brand items with
reasonable price
- The space is wide, clean, and
comfortable.
- Have many ways to payments like
cash or card
- The price is expensive
- The fresh food items are very few,
usually frozen foods.

type of holiday
accommodation be for your
neighbors?

Villa: - Peaceful, far away

from the everyday busyness

- Larger than a hotel

room, reasonable for
the budget
- This type of
accommodation can

- It can have a lot of privacy for the people because it provides them their kitchen,
dining room, bedroom, …So villas make them more cost-effective than hotels

Hotels: - Diversity of different types of rooms like normal or VIP.

- Providing tourists with specially designed serviced rooms

- Have all the required facilities
- Have staff clean the room, supermarket, and restaurant in the hotel

Resort: - large, comfortable, and convenience

- Located near tourist locations, such as beaches, parks…

 - Resorts provide modern facilities, such as swimming pools, golf courses, tennis
courts, ballrooms, gym, playground for kids, and so on,…

Horse-drawn caravan: - It will serve as their holiday home

- Help them discover medieval villages, sunflower fields, forests,...

- Meet with local people and taste the traditional foods of that country.

Holiday-park and campground: - Providing facilities such as tents, and campervans, and
also have simple cabins, self-contained motel units, and backpacker’s lodges

- People can be in harmony with nature

- Low cost of living
- Have an entertainment team that will take their kids along for all the activities
- Only need a small amount of money

Homestay: - Organizers would help them find homeowners who share their interests,
learn about new things

- Stay in a homestay and you’ll have met some local people, in their home, who will
quickly help you to feel more comfortable and secure.
- You’ll share a meal with your hosts and learn more about the destination and local
culture from them.
- The host will share with tourists an insight into local life that other forms of
accommodation can’t offer.

1. What kinds of holiday accommodation are popular in your country?

2. What things are important to you when you choose a place to stay?
I think the first thing I need to consider is the type of accommodation I will stay in
during my holiday. Then is the location of it, I want it nearby the places where I
can buy things I need and go. Lastly is Price, I need to find a place suitable for my
budget.
3. Why do some people choose to stay in five-star hotels?
 I think once the hotel is provided 5 stars certificate it means that the service is
completely good. So there are many reasons for people who choose to stay in 5 stars
hotels such as cleanliness. 5 stars hotels are cleaner than any normal hotels, they care a
lot about customers’ reviews. Besides, tourists can get faster service and the staffs are
always happy to help you because they had trained carefully. The last is better food
quality. 5 stars hotels always have master chefs and the whole team working in the
kitchen is efficient.

4. What kind of person do you think would enjoy traveling around in a traditional
gypsy caravan?

I think it would be suitable for people looking for some peace and tranquility far away
from their busy life. It is also perfect for couples who want to have a romantic break or
families looking for a strange feeling.

5. Is tourist accommodation in your country expensive?

In my opinion, the price of different types of tourist accommodation will depend on each
person's request. If they want to rent a room in a resort or a 5 stars hotel it will be more
expensive. Because these places are very luxurious and have the best services (like the
rooms are wide, clean and have the fantasy view, the staffs are enthusiastic and the foods
are cooked by master chefs and they are also very delicious, fresh). If they just want to
rent a simple room in a normal hotel or homestay, it will have a reasonable price for
everyone. But in general, I believe that tourist accommodation in my country is quite
cheap compared to many other countries.
