Media (medium) refer/s to the communication outlets


through which we made known to the public different
important data like news, music, movies, education,
promotional messages and other data. It includes
physical and e-newspapers or online newspapers,
magazines, billboards, radio, televisions, telephone and
internet

Print media is defined as any written or pictorial form


of communication produced mechanically or
electronically using printing, photocopying, or digital
methods from which multiple copies can be made
through automated processes.

1. Newspapers are published daily or weekly and


they cover different topics from local to
international news., books, journals, magazines
and reports.
2. Magazines are printed sheets that give
information in various events or topics. Usually
a magazine is issued periodically, either
annually, quarterly, monthly and weekly.

Non-print media is a means of informing the people
without using paper or print. This type has become
very common to all people both as a tool in the
educational process and as means of spreading
information all throughout the world.

1.TV and radio are examples of broadcast media.


Radio was invented about a century ago while the
television came up at the end of the 1940s.
2. Internet It offers the people content from all other
forms of media. It is booming amidst the expense of the
other two mentioned above. Many people are depending
on the internet when they are working, shopping,
learning and even spending leisure or pleasure time.
3. Mobile devices or cellphones are wireless devices
that can receive and send messages, browse the net,
take photos, play games, and record videos. It also has
applications that give users access wherever and
whenever.
4. Social Media is a combination of online
telecommunication channels where netizens or citizens
using the internet interact, share content, and
collaborate.
5. Podcast is a piece of audio-like story, interview or
documentary.
6. Website is a presentation of images, videos or
information posted on the internet. By searching a
certain keyword using the search engine, it will lead
you to a certain website.
7. Video is a recording of motion picture or television
program for playing through a television set.

A sentence which asks for information is called an


interrogative sentence or interrogatives. It is a
sentence that states a question and requires a
response. An interrogative sentence ends with a
question mark (?). Of course, you already know this
when you were in elementary.

WH questions are interrogatives that begin with what,


who, when, where, why, and how. These questions
require specific information.
Examples:
What made De Oro Daily stop its print editions?
Where are they going to deliver news?
Why is news important?
Who were involved in the crime?

76 new COVID 19 Cases Registered in Caraga

BUTUAN CITY–The number of coronavirus
disease (COVID-19) cases in Northeastern
Mindanao or Caraga region continued to rise
with 76 new cases recorded, as of Friday ,
October 23.

Based on the COVID-19 Regional Case Bulletin


released by the Department of Health Center for
Heal th and Development ( DOH-CHD) , 33 new
cases were recorded in Butuan City,10 in
Cabadbaran City,10 in Surigao del Norte,9 in
Agusan del Sur,6 in Bislig City,5 in Surigao Ci
ty, 2 in Surigao del Sur, and 1 in Agusan del
Norte.

Caraga region now has a total of 2,477 confirmed
cases of COVID-19, with 755 active cases and103
deaths. In a virtual press briefing on Friday, the
DOH-CHD reported that Caraga region has also
recorded 1,599 recoveries. According to the medical
status of the newly infected patients, the DOH-CHD
said one was severe, 26 have mild symptoms and
49 were asymptomatic. Among the latest cases, 67
were local transmission cases, five with no history
of travel to an area with known local transmission
or exposure to COVID-19, and four with travel
history from an area with local transmission.
Among those infected, 38 were female, with the
youngest at eight months old, and the oldest,
79years old.

Meanwhile, top DOH-CHD 13 officials in the region


has called on the implementation of stricter health
protocols as new confirmed cases of COVID-19
were again recorded in various parts of the region,
particularly in this region’s premier and capital city
of Butuan. “Let us strictly implement containment
measures,” stressed DOH 13 Regional Director Dr.
Jose R. Llacuna, Jr. Strict quarantines measures
must be put in place in areas where there are
already COVID-19 cases, Llacuna said during
virtual press conference on Friday.
