Question 1
1)
Occurrence 1 - The first instance of conflict between Lisa and Linton occurred on her first day
at work. 'She doesn't like MBAs,' Linton said. This statement, together with her boss's chilly
and uninterested reception, was a major source of contention.
Occurrence 2: Richard Clark, the group product manager who had impressed her during the
hiring process, scarcely acknowledged her or welcomed her to the organization. He had given
her a frigid reception.
2a)
2b)
Lisa has the ability to initiate an emotional connection with Scoville. She may figure out what
sets him off and what doesn't by interacting with him on an emotional level outside of the
office. She can make herself necessary to Scoville by using her contacts with other department
colleagues to expedite work for him. Scoville's increasing emphasis on her has the potential to
strengthen her connection with him.
Question 3
3b)
With Linton, Lisa needs to practice talking to her and build a connection. The motivators for
Lisa and Linton are that they are both ambitious ladies. If Lisa could connect with Linton
through this driver, building a friendship with her should be simpler. By taking on fascinating
projects that improve her visibility to Scoville and Linton, Lisa can increase her visibility. This
would lead to positive comments about her from other coworkers, building Lisa's network of
influence. Lisa needs to cease behaving like a learner going forward and be assertive when
making recommendations and presenting pertinent thoughts during staff meetings.
Question 4
4)
Lisa's performance was critiqued by Linton, who described her as "unassailable" and "lacking
in initiative and confidence." What could Linton have altered about the way he delivered
criticism? Give two improvements. Linton may have offered Lisa opportunities to present
herself assertively and let her shine, but instead of coming across as and giving her the
straight dope, he may have given her opportunities to shine. Linton may have promised Lisa
that if she found out how awful Scoville's management was, she would tell Lisa to behave
differently.
Question 5
Question 6
6a)
She may barter with Scoville as well. She can sway him to embrace her points of view by
aiding him with tasks.
6b)
Lisa needs to be more assertive while interacting with Scoville and Linton. When Lisa
expressed her dislike for MBAs during their talk, she had the opportunity to confront Scoville
about his despicable management style. This might have lessened the impact of her bad
experiences.
Question 7
7)
Absolutely, there was a trust violation. Please read about the event where Scoville made Lisa
copy documents for him below. Lisa denied since she was too occupied with her task. Then she
became enraged, saying, "Oh, I see, you're too good at copying," and Scoville retaliated by
saying the same thing to Linton. This was a blatant betrayal of her confidence because it was
done behind her back.
Question 8
8)
Lisa should indeed leave her position at House world. These are some of my arguments,
among many others.
a) Lack of Team Bonding - From typing errors to a copying incident, there is a glaring
example of a lack of team management. This is unhealthy and will impede growth in
general. This is not a conducive environment for growth.
b) Unprofessional - Scoville has frequently acted in an unprofessional manner, however
we see no enforcement of this against him. However, nothing substantial against him
has occurred despite identical concerns being raised by other team members. This
demonstrates red tape.
c) Lack of ethics: Her seniors, Linton and Scoville, exhibit a glaring absence of both
professional ethics and moral principles. Despite the fact that she tried her hardest, it
is obvious that she would not be given a fair chance. Additionally, she can develop
incorrect values, which might later harm her profession.
