MODULE 1
Introduction to Building Ancillary Systems
Rationale:
Complex infrastructure requires a variety of building ancillary systems. In the Philippines, before
any building or complex infrastructure can be erected or modified, a building permit from the LGU
Office of Building Officials (OBO) must be secured. To this, according to the National Building
Code, several ancillary permits must be submitted to the Building Officials before the permit is
issued. One of this ancillary permits is the electronics permit. This subject will help the students
to understand the various aspects of different systems seen in well-structured building. Specifically
fire alarm systems and electronic security systems.
