Chapter I
This chapter presents the general description of the study. It covers the
limitation of the study, definition of terms used in the study, and significance of the
study.
Introduction
Adolescence is the stage where teens become curious on the things that surround
them. It is also the stage wherein they experience their first crush, puppy love and first
love. It is the stage wherein they seek for love and ending up to committing in a romantic
relationship. Sutter Health Palto Alto Medical Foundation defined romantic relationship

The researchers noticed this factors that’s why they decided to conduct an inquiry
about the impact of romantic relationship in the academic performance of a student.

teachers. In order to gather more information they will conduct a survey on their parents
and also to their friends. After conducting a survey, they will make an interview to this

This research paper will focus only on the impact of romantic relationship in
academic performance of 50 Grade 12 students of Nick Joaquin Senior High School and
50 Grade 10 students of Pugad Lawin High School during 3 rd to 4th Grading Period of
School Year 2017-2018. The researchers will use random sampling to pick 100 students
both from Nick Joaquin Senior High School and Pugad Lawin High School as their
respondents. They will use qualitative research. They will conduct a survey and interview
to their chosen respondents. The respondents will be the students, teachers and parents of
Nick Joaquin Senior High School students and Pugad Lawin High School Students. They
will get some information in the books, thesis, journals. E-books and other references in

METHODOLOGY OF STUDY
This Chapter describes and discussed how the researchers gather the
necessary data and information that will be used in the entire study. It describes who will
be the respondents and the focus of the research. This also shows the procedure of data
collection and instrument used; these chapters also discuss the type of research, research
method, and the research locale where the study will be conducted.

The researchers used Pugad Lawin High School and Nick Joaquin as their locale.
Nick Joaquin Senior High School is established in year 2016. It is a Senior High

Based on the findings in Figure 7, it is evident that most of the students have a
legal type of relationship; this only shows that they value the virtue of respect to their
parents and they assure that their parents or loved ones know that they are in a
relationship. This action was important so they have someone to talk with or consult with
when their relationships are on rocks or in a strong struggle and also there are someone
who can lead them and told them the right thing to do.

Summary
The main goal of this thesis is to know the impact of romantic relationship in the
academic performance of students. Aside from this it is also the goals of the researchers
to determine the different reasons why teens enter romantic relationship. Determining the
general meaning of romantic relationship, and how it affects the academic performance
of students. Researchers provide sample studies and literature that can make this paper
much stronger. All of the questions in the survey questionnaires are developed and
designed based on the main objective of this study. In each corresponding numbers, the
respondents are asked to put a check on the item that they did experienced. Based on the
findings that the researchers gathered it was very evident that romantic relationship
makes a good impact in the academic performance of the students. Most of the students
become inspired and motivate because they know that there is someone that is supporting
them. They pursue more and worked more in achieving their dreams. It is also clear that
