INTRODUCTION
KBNC Hostel provide budget oriented, sociable accommodation where students can stay for the entire course of
their study period. KBNC Hostel for girls a very bright and clam ambience with complete safety and security.
Hostel provides a homely environment and is furnished with requisite utilizes has hygienic environment, solar
facility, safe drinking facility and is in the campus where college hospital and canteen is situated.
Hostel accommodation shall be provided with an assumption that the students will respect the Hostel Rules
and regulations currently in force or as may be enforced from time to time. Violation of hostel rules will make
the students liable to disciplinary action including permanent expulsion from the hostels.
Warden is acquainted with all the rules and regulations of the Hostel. She observe them strictly. Ignorance of
rules will not be considered as an excuse. Accommodation in the Hostel cannot be claimed as a matter of right.
The Institute (Hostel/College) administration may refuse accommodation to any students who are known to
have violated the Hostel Rules.

AIM:
The students will be able to stay safely in healthy environment and live together with mutual understanding.

OBJECTIVES: The students will be able to-


I. To create an atmosphere of harmony and co-operation amongst the student residing in the hostel.
II. To provide the student a peaceful and congenial environment to enable them to excel in their studies
and personality development.
III. To create amongst student, a sense of accommodation and to inculcate discipline.
IV. To ensure that students coming from different parts of the places learn to live together and strengthen
their relations with mutual cooperation and goodwill.
V. To provide clean, safe and comfortable accommodation effectively and efficiently to the students.
VI. To utilize different facilities available to them.

SCOPE

This procedure applies to and defines all the activities carried out by the hostel department headed by hostel
warden.

ABBREVIATION, DEFINITION AND TERM USED

SOP- Standard Operating Procedure.

Hostel means the accommodation place given to the students of Institute to board and lodge in such hostel
which are in the premises of the Institute. OR “Hostel” means a unit of residence, by whatever name called, for
students of the University provided, maintained or recognized by it.
Hostel Authority means Director/Principal/Chief Warden who would be overall in- charge/ disciplinary
authority to maintain discipline and harmony amongst the boarder, between boarders and the worker of the
messes, between boarders/residents/students and employees of the Institute, between the workers of the mess
and employees of the Institute.
Hostel Committee means the independent Committee duly constituted from the boarders of each hostel in the
presence of the warden of the hostel duly approved by the Chief Warden. Such Committee would be responsible
towards the functioning of hostel affairs.
Mess Committee is responsible for providing breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and dinner at both the messes.
Mess Committee also has an active feedback page, where every query, suggestion, and criticism is appreciated
and properly evaluated leading to continual improvement.
Ragging means teasing, manhandling, ill-treating with rudeness with any fresher, psychological harm that
raises fear in the mind of fresher, asking the fresher to perform Any act, this has the effect of causing or
generating a sense of shame so as to adversely affect his/ her physique/ psyche.
RESPONSIBILITIES
I. The committee shall create a positive ambience in hostel
II. Promoting team spirit and cooperation amongst the students by creating healthy competition.
III. Proper maintenance of hostel and mess and to have a check on quality of food.
IV. Facilitates the grievance redressal of students and communicates the same to the concerned authorities.
V. Keeps a check on the daily issues regarding the hostel infrastructure, the housekeeping issues, mess
facilities, etc.
VI. The hostel committee should conduct the meeting.
Functions
I. To create overall disciplined environment in hostel
II. To provide the platform for students so that they can showcase their talent.
III. To provide them infrastructure conducive for their growth.
IV. To create an environment so that feelings of home sickness is not there amongst the students.

V. To provide good healthy and hygienic food.
VI. It is designed to serve the interest of the student’s community in competitive cultural field and provide
an ambience for their overall wholesome personality development.

PROCEDURE

1. Hostel facility is only for girls students.


2. Student should read the rules before signing the hostel admission form.
3. To take admission in the hostel, students will have to fill the hostel admission form and also sign the
undertaking.
4. Parents/guardian related information should be provided.
5. Visitors should carry ID card with them for verification.
6. Parents (Mother or Father) & guardians are allowed to meet the students during visiting hours only in
the visiting room.
7. Visitors and Day scholars not allowed to enter in the students room and also they do not have permission
to stay in the hostel during the Night.
8. Students are not allowed to change their rooms/bunkers without permission of the warden.
9. Only dry snacks are allowed to eat in the hostel, apart from this no any other food eat in the hostel if
students are seen strict action will be taken.
10. Whereas non vegetarian food is not allowed in Kamalnayan Bajaj Nursing College, Hospital campus
and in the hostel. If students are seen strict action will be taken.
11. Student must wear proper attire in and out of the hostel.
12. Students availing accommodation facility shall take care of hostel property handed over to them such as
Bunkers, chairs etc. In case of damage, fine shall be recovered from their deposit.
13. Students should not keep costly Items with them (jewellery, gold ornaments, money). If kept it should
be at their own risk.
14. All hostel students shall help in maintaining the hostel and its surrounding area neat, clean and tidy.
15. There should be judicious use of water, electricity and other facilities as common utilities provided to
them. Put off the lights, fans, etc. when not in use. Do not keep the taps open.
16. No students shall stick any poster, or draw anything on the wall of the room.
17. Students should use the lock for the room provided to them by the warden.

18. Students should report to the hostel incharge and warden should sign in the hostel and college register
before leaving the hostel and after coming back to the hostel.
19. Main gate of hostel will be closed at 9.00 pm and will open at 6.00am.
20. At 9.00 pm everybody should attend the prayer after the roll call.
21. Visitors are allowed to visit on Sunday 7.00 am to 7.00 pm. from Monday to Saturday 5.00 pm to 7.00
pm.
22. Night out pass to the students will be permitted only once in a month. The out - pass should be
sanctioned from the Vice Principal/Hostel Incharge by Friday. The student should return on the date
mentioned in the leave form.
23. Outing is allowed on Saturday (1.00pm -7.00pm) and Sunday (7.00am-7.00pm).
24. Students will be allowed to go to the hostel only during lunch time if needed, odd batch student should
not stay in hostel during college hours, they should attend the classes or remain in the library.
25. Hostel students should strictly refrain from smoking, alcoholic drinks and drugs, which otherwise
becomes a nuisance to others within or outside the hostel premises such an act would be treated as
misconduct.
26. Physical Violence, ragging and mental harassment is strictly prohibited in the hostel. If it is found then,
strict disciplinary or legal action can be taken by authority and management.
27. In case, any of the student wants to vacate the hostel, then hostel cancellation rule to be followed as
decided by management and college.
28. Conduct of unauthorized meeting inside hostel would lead to disciplinary action, the hostel students
shall not be entitled to retain accommodation in hostel beyond her normal period of study. (Basic Bsc.
Nursing 4th year and P.B.Bsc. 2nd year).
29. If any grievance related to the hostel, the respective student should inform to the student representative
first then student representative should inform to warden and hostel incharge and hostel incharge
informed to the Principal.

FACILITIES AT HOSTEL
For each students have should be comfortable bed cupboard with hanging and shelf place, mirror a table
and chair, celling fan should be provided. The windows are covered with netting or mosquito net to be provided

1. Proper housekeeping staff shall be assigned for the maintenance of the cleaning in hostel premises
and each room.
2. Newspapers and magazines shall be made available in the hostel’s common room on chargeable

basis.
3. Common room / T.V room facilities shall be made available to the boarders/ students in the hostel
premises.
4. RO system duly fitted with water cooler shall be made available in the hostel for the water
purification.
5. Wi-Fi facilities shall be made available in the hostel in due course of time on chargeable basis.
6. All required furniture and fixtures shall be made available with each room of the hostel.
7. Electricity and water supply shall be made available round the clock except during maintenance.
However, the charges shall be paid by the students on actual basis.
8. CCTV cameras shall be fitted in the hostel for the security purpose.
9. A hot water facility shall be available in the hostel.
10. Visitor Room shall be made available in hostels for the parents and relatives of the students.

WITHDRAWAL/VACATION

Any student withdrawing from the hostel will hand over the possession of the room and pay all the dues and
seek clearance certificate from the concerned Warden and for the Mess Charges would seek no dues certificate
from the Mess Committee and in case of urgency the same can be issued by the concerned warden who would
place such no dues certificate to the concerned mess committee. At the end of every session on the last day of
regular examination the student shall vacate her room and hand over the charge of the room including all
items on the inventory to the Hostel Attendant or any other official of the hostel authorized by the Warden for
repair and maintenance purposes. Any student desirous of retaining his room during the vacation must seek
prior permission of his Warden.

 The actions taken by above mentioned authorities/committees shall be reported to next Reviewing
authority.
 While conducting the final enquiry the concerned authority will ensure that opportunity is given to the
boarder to present his view point.
 After the decision is conveyed to the boarder, he may request the concerned authority for its review. An
appeal for pardon, remission, commutation, reprieve, and respite shall be with the Principal as the case
may be.
 Action taken by Warden may be reviewed by Principal.
 Director may review any decision taken by hostel authorities.

DISCIPLINARY actions

A students found to have violated any of Conduct & Discipline rules:

1. Issued written/verbal warning.


2. placed on conduct probation.
3. asked to tender verbal/written public apology.
4. asked to call her parents.
5. s expelled from hostel temporarily or permanently.
6. referred to Institutional Discipline Committee/Police.

RAGGING
1) No act of ragging shall be tolerate in the hostel.
2) Any student who suffer ragging or notices occurrence of ragging shall immediately reported to
concerned authority.
3) Incidence of ragging can be reported to any member of Hostel committee, Anti-ragging committee.
4) The hostel committee should report to the management and the management will take appropriate action
on it.
