CSU LANTERN FESTIVAL 2022

Objectives: To showcase the creative works of CSUans in support to the celebration of the
season of Christmas
Rationale: This Lantern festival was conceptualized to bring back the CSU Tradition since
1990. Everyone is a lantern bearer, lighting the path of this university will take. Let nothing
dim the light that shows within us.

Theme: TANGLAW ng CSU

Date of event: December 20, 2022


Assembly Time: 5:00PM
Assembly place: Andrews Grounds
Parade Starts: 5:30PM
Venue: Parade around the Tuguegarao Town proper

GUIDELINES FOR THE LANTERN FESTIVAL 2022

Theme:

I. Who may join?


University/Campus Officials, Unit Heads, Faculty, Staff, Personnel, and Students
university-wide are welcomed to participate and produce their own lantern.
Number of participants: A minimum of 20 employees (outside Tuguegarao Campuses)
and a Maximum of 50 employees for Andrews and Carig Campuses are required to
join the parade. To make the parade more festive, 40 students from the different
colleges of Andrews and Carig Campuses (CSG/ColSG officers and accredited
organizations) are required to join.

II. Lantern Guidelines


A. The lantern of participating Campuses must reflect/showcase their “niche” program
that contributed much to the development of their respective campuses.

B. For campuses outside Tuguegarao City, Produce Five (5) BIG LANTERNS and for
CSU Andrews and Carig Campuses, two (2) Big Lanterns per College. Three-
dimensional lantern of 1.25 meters length, width and height (including a permanent
base, if any) that is with lighted by bulbs/candles shall qualify for the competition.

C. All the big lanterns will be mounted in Elf or pick-up vehicles (2 floats for outside
Tuguegarao Campuses and a minimum of 4 floats for Andrews and CArig Campuses)

D. Only members of the participating teams are allowed to contribute and help in the
preparation of the lantern. Hiring/Seeking of professional service or help is not
allowed.

F. In order to make the Lantern Parade more Festive, the 40 students per college from
Andrews and Carig Campuses must provide and hold their own small lantern or hand
props during the parade. Expenses for the lantern shall not be charged against
University Funds. Inexpensive lantern is encouraged. It is suggested that the total cost
of the lantern should not be more than Ten thousand pesos (P10, 000.00) (For
competition)
Ill. Parade Guidelines

A. Each participating campus must be identified by a streamer, flag or placard mounted in


their respective float.

B. Only merrymaking activities like singing, dancing and cheering shall be allowed during
the parade event.

C. Musical instruments and other merrymaking tools/gadgets/equipment may be used.

D. Each Campus is required to police its own ranks and provide its own marshals/security.

E. Participants are encouraged to wear economical and creative costumes expressing


the CSU way of Christmas celebration. Costumes/shirts should be aligned with the
theme of the parade. For students: White top and Denim Pants. Wearing of
accessories like arm/headbands, hats, bandanas may be encouraged.

IV. For Lantern Contest Entries

A. Lantern Entries must be registered and 2 hours before the parade proper to the
committee on Parade.
B. Description of not more than 120 words explaining the significance and
relevance of the theme must be submitted during the registration. Pre- judging
will be held at exactly 4:00 PM at the designated places. Final Judging will be
completed during the parade.

C. Criteria for Judging


● Content (relevant to the theme, originality) 40%

● Form (artistry and creativity based on the niche 40%


program
● Over-all impact 20%

E. Winners of the Lantern Contest and recipients of the Special Awards will be
given Certificates of Recognition.
