SEASONS
There are two seasons available for arable crop production and are known as Rainy Season and Dry
Season.
All crops can be planted during the Rainy season such as Cassava, Maize, Pepper, Tomatoes, water
melon etc while those that can be planted with irrigation in the dry season are Okro, Leaf Amaranth,
tomatoes etc because of their short gestation period. They also tend to attract more profit during
this period when planted in hydromorphic areas popularly called FADAMA.
TERRAIN
The terrain of Ore ABC is good for the cultivation of all the crops listed above in the two seasons. It is
not rugged but dotted with some slopes and occassional outrock. Accessibility to more than one
perennial source of water and a functioning dam for irrigation purposes.
Epe terrain will be good for Cassava, okro, leaf Amaranth, pepper in wet season and there is also
accessibility to a perennial source of water for irrigation. Planting of leafy vegetables and Okro is
possible during the dry season. The terrain is slopy but with a beautiful landscape.
Isuada is good for all the crops in the two seasons due to the availability of one constant source of
flowing stream for irrigation purposes during the dry period. The terrain is plain and accessible.
Auga can only accommodate rainy season plantings, dry season farming is not feasible presently in
this ABC due to lack of a functional dam for irrigation purposes. The terrain too is plain and very
accessible.
HECTARAGE
This is achieveable at the peak of the dry season in highly populated areas.
