18th Senate Meeting Minutes: September 12th 2008

1. Called to Order – 9:04am

2. Roll Call – Senators Aday, Kleinschmidt, Morgan not present at roll call
Aday – 9:10am, Kleinschmidt – 9:22am, Morgan – 9:08am

3. No additions or corrections to the agenda

6a. Peter’s Report –
Helping Eric prepare for the upcoming Pullman trip
Attending RSO Orientations
Chancellor Advisory Board
Working with the Programming Committee on the locker project
Met with different entities on campus
Met w/Greg Zschomler about the ASWSUV and VanCougar meeting on 9/27 at 12pm

6b. Andrea’s Report –


Had a meeting and attended dinner with the WSL
Attended the Washington State Assembly Days
Met with VanCougar about the ASWSUV budget
Diversity Council Retreat
Met with different entities on campus

6c. 1) Eric Davidson’s Report –


Bowling Nights are Thursdays at 9-11pm
Finalized Pullman Trip
- Some students are now off the waiting list
Oktober Fest
- If anyone has any ideas, contact Eric

2) Nicole Mousleh’s report –


Met with Michelle to discuss ads, event signs, and window clings
Tabled and attended the Back to School BBQ

3) Michael Hatch’s report –


Uploaded photos to the ASWSUV website
Updated the front page with the Bowling Night poster
Still needs the rest of the Senators Bios and to take photos by next Senate meeting

4) Sommer Knight’s report –


Our campus is now an official WSL Member
Attended State Senate Committee with Vice President Wooster and Senator Brown
Contacted Susan Ingram about getting a Neuroscience degree on campus
Trying to get students to register to votes
5) Blake Hunter’s report –
The club fair at the Back to School BBQ was well attended
RSO Orientations have started this week with 10 clubs
He will start to go to club meetings and have club forums once a month

6) Jared Pengra’s report –


Hanging and keeping posters up to date
Will learn how to create posters
Helping with creating the Activities Board
Finalizing Pullman Trip with Eric
Working on creating his own events such as Mystery Theatre

Senator Chu: How many people are going to be on the Activities Board? How many
applications have we received so far?
Eric Davidson: 3-5 members and 3 applicants so far
President Sterr: Applicants for past open Senate positions have expressed interest

7. Committee reports

External Affairs – Meetings on Tuesdays at 9:45am


Assigned duties to each member according to the ASWSUV Bylaws

Programming – Meetings on Tuesdays at 3pm


Working on the lockers idea
Planning future meetings with Michelle

Finance – Meetings after every Senate Meeting


Will look over how much is in the Student Events Pool within the budget
Create a running tally of how much the Senate spends each meeting

Rules and Regulations and Budget have not had any meetings yet

Eric Davidson: Close to the same amount
Senator Myers: How many bowling nights are there going to be?
Eric Davidson: 8 with two being Cosmic Bowling Nights

Recognized Senator Shaw for creating the time sheet

Michael Hatch: Senator Bios are due today
