Definition of transition signal

-Transition signals are linking words, clauses, or phrases that connect your ideas and add
cohesion to your writing.

-Transition signals are used to signal relationships between ideas in your writing.

-Transition signals are connecting words or phrases that strengthen the internal cohesion of
your writing.

-Transition signals are words that help make clear connections between ideas and see the
sentences and paragraphs flow together smoothly, making them easier to read.

2. Determine explicit and implicit to connect between 2 sentences.

Explicit and implicit are opposites. Explicit means frankly, while implicit means have hidden.
The relationship between sentences is explicit, marked by the presence of connecting words.
However, it can also be implicit, characterized by the absence of conjunctions or transition
words. To be able to define a sentence using implicit or explicit, you must know the words
included in the transition signal. The following are types of transition signals.

1. Addition: again, also, besides, further, last, moreover, equally, important, in addition, etc.

2. Clarification: as a matter of fact, clearly, evidently, in fact, etc.

3. Example: for example, for instance, including, such as, etc.

4. Location: above, under, next to, nearby, behind, etc.

5. Time: before, while, when, after, as soon as, during, after that, etc.

6. Conclusion: to conclude, in conclusion, in summary, to review, etc.

7. Comparison: also, likewise, in like manner, similarly, both/and.

8. Contrast: however, but, yet, nevertheless, in contrast, etc.

A comparison transition signal can be used to compare two things that are the same, in
another word the sentences or ideas AGREE with each other.
Words included in the comparison transition signal are also, likewise, in like manner, similarly,
both/and.

Example:
