Here are the checklists under each parameter. Please come well-prepared for the session.

in every demo. Be thorough with every problem in the Math Magic
section.
❏ Cue, don’t tell. The cues are available in the teacher tips section.
❏ Let the student think and then answer. Give them the time to think
and come up with a solution. Give hints.
❏ Pose a follow-up challenge question to the student if they find the
problem very easy.

rewards earned by the student, etc.,
Energy
❏ Be cheerful, friendly, and speak in an engaging manner throughout
the session.
❏ Make eye contact, have a confident and positive body language
❏ Stay on call throughout. Keep talking.
❏ Even when the student is working on problems, it is important to engage
them through different kinds of conversations.
Encouragement
❏ Show excitement - clapping, thumbs up, etc.,
❏ Use different words and statements for encouragement, say it when
you mean it.
❏ Do not repeat the same words every time - e.g., good, good, good, etc.,
❏ Search and write down a few words that you may use for encouraging or
motivating the student.
❏ Send GIFs, paste stickers, use props to bring joy to the student.
❏ Be supportive even if the student struggles with the problems.
❏ Appreciate the effort and not just the result.

The mentor might ask you to discuss multiple Math Magic problems. Be prepared for all
the problems. To prepare for the Math Magic problems, refer to the CESSAMPLE.G4
program. We have added the Math Magic problems available in Grades 1 to 10 in the
student demo chapter. You can refer to these video links to prepare for the warm-up
conversation.
