1. Introduction
Cummins Arabia, one of the leading ISO 9001-2008, OHSAS 18001:2007 and Cummins Arabia is committed to
provide excellent services in professional manner in the field of Manufacture, Design, Engineering, Trading,
Fabrication, Construction, Plant Maintenance, Spare parts through competent employees who understand
current and future industrial requirements.

2. Purpose
The purpose of this Environmental, Health, Safety and Security Plan is to set the requirements and
expectations for conducting Replacement of Diesel Generator Project. So as to assure the health and safety of
all employees, protect the environment and equipment.

Cummins Arabia EHS Management System (CAEHSMS) procedures SABIC Ar-Razi shall be the basis of this
EHSS Plan and to be submitted to the client to meet all the EHSS requirements.

3. Scope
The Cummins Arabia identifies and provides general instructions on implementing the various elements of the
program including, Health, Safety of Client other Contractors employees & Environment Protection, Safety
Representative Program, Work Permit System, Auditing Program, Recognition and Unit Specific Equipment.

4. Project HSE Objective


To manage the Replacement of DG Project, works safely, and prevent environmental violations.
To arrange adequate resources to manage the works. The client safety procedure shall be followed during all
work activities.
Communicate and share Replacement of DG Project, information with all key personnel of client.
Plan and schedule in advance for Replacement of DG Project, activities to maintain a continuous improvement
so as to avoid any delays in schedule. To highlight any areas that may require any improvement. To ensure all
employees have with them and use all the relevant PPE.

5. HSE Goals
The following HSE Goals are intended for all persons involved Replacement of DG Project
• To make the HSE on top priority.
• Zero Recordable Injuries.
• Zero Fires.
• Zero Environmental violations such as Spillages.

6. Kick-Off Meeting
Cummins Arabia Management will attend kick-off Meeting along with all the other involved key personnel for a
brief Replacement of DG Project and to clarify the roles and the responsibilities for the effectives management
of the work plus to voice any concerns that they may have, on any aspect, regarding the safe execution of the
activities.

8. Training Plan

All employees shall be trained by the Contractor in Basic Fire Extinguisher use, Basic First Aid,
working at height, Ionization Radiation, Electrical Safety, proper use of required Personal
Protective Equipment (PPE) &Lifting Equipment before mobilization to site.
Separate special training shall be arranged throughout the construction period as per the
requirement. Safety training record shall be prepared and maintained.
The following Safety Training shall be applied:
 Safety induction Course organized by Customer
 No employee shall be permitted to work at the construction site or allowed access to the
construction site without first having attended this course.

When: Immediately upon arrival at the construction site and Before commencement of work

9. Key Activities during Activities


Cummins Arabia Management, Supervision and Safety will be involved in the following:
Safety audits of daily work activities.
Impose all HSE Controls.
• Engage in all Safety Coordination Meetings.
• Engage with the daily meeting with all key personnel in the plant.
• Daily/as per client Tool box Talk to all Cummins employees.
• Ensure all food waste and rubbish is disposed in the designated bins
• Ensure to follow all the instructions on the work permit.

10. Work Permit System


All work permits must be issued during Replacement project accordance with SABIC Procedures: All work
permits will be issued, endorsed & closed at the jobsite as per client procedure.

11. EHSS Organization Chart

12. Responsibilities

HSE Manager
• Overall responsibility for HSE related matters.
• Implementation of rules and regulations imposed on the project by ‘CA/Client HSE Manual’ and the ‘HSE
Arrangements.’
• Implementation of the HSE rules and regulation for client satisfaction
• Attend HSE Meetings scheduled by the client and provide input as required.
• Report of any incident or accident, to the Cummins HSE representative on site.
• Initiate and/or participate in Risk Assessments
• Depending on contract requirements the Quality Plan/Inspection and Testing plan for the job will be
reviewed for Risk Assessment factors, section marked accordingly, monitor and supervise all activities that
are identified as "High Risk".

HSE Supervisor
• Delegated responsibility for implementation of all HSE related matters.
• HSE induction of staff prior to and during the execution of the job.
• Firm commitment to the avoidance of incidents and accidents.
• Maintain daily log, entering all HSE-related incidents.
• Execution of all HSE rules and regulations as applicable to the job.
• Conduct Toolbox Talks/Meetings with staff at the beginning of each job.
• To carry out unsafe act audits as required and the results to be reported to the GSCC HSE representative.
Follow up on all directives from client HSE supervisor

• HSE Officer
• The HSE Representative shall co-ordinate the HSE effort on site.
• Conduct HSE assessments as required and represents the HSE representative in HSE or other meetings,
if so required.
• Carry out monitoring, assessments and audit activities as per this HSE document or as per the
requirements agreed with the client, including the planned audit and review activities.
• Provide guidance and training to Assistant HSE Officers as directed by the HSE Advisor/supervisor.
• Perform equipment checks throughout the duration of the Cummins activities on the client premises.
• Maintain a daily report on all HSE-related activities on the client premises.
• Co-ordinate HSE related activities for the night shift HSE Officer, if applicable.
• Maintain HSE awareness among the Cummins workforce.

13. Hazard Identification & Risk Management


HS&E risks are those arising from occupational exposure associated with construction, tie-ins and
commissioning activities.
Cummins shall compile the outputs from the HS&E risk workshops into a formal HS&E register together with
action plans to mitigate the risks.
HS&E risks shall be assessed using the Risk methodology and risk will be rolled up into a project risk register in
order to assess their contribution to the overall risk profile for the project. Risk assessment shall be undertaken
whilst considering activities involving:
• Light Vehicles
• Civil Construction
• Mobile Equipment
• Hazardous materials
• Equipment safeguarding
• Isolation of energy
• Working at heights
• Lifting operations
Job Safety Analysis
Job safety analysis shall be conducted with the fully engagement of work crew on all tasks having potential for
injury or incidents. Line management shall undertake a JSA for the development of Replacement of DG Project
and shall review employee developed JSA’s to ensure completeness & facilitate improve quality. Employees shall
develop a personal or team JSA prior to starting at the beginning of shift or for all new work.
Rigging Plan
A rigging plan for the critical lifting operation shall be prepared by Cummins rigging supervisor or Rigger level 1
and submitted to Sabic for review and approval prior to start of lift in accordance with the requirement of Sabic.
The contents of lifting plan shall include required documents (method statements, work area condition,
coordination about interfaces with any other works in proximity of its lifting, emergency response) and reviewed by
competent personnel or equivalent.
All lifting operation may need the work permit with adequate document e.g., JSA, risk assessment.
14. HSE meetings & Tool box talk

Sabic and Cummins safety Representative shall meet daily to discuss and share the latest developments on
HSE performance. The Meeting attendance format is in Annex.
Additional SHE Tool-Box talks shall be conducted by the Cummins/Client supervisors with the presence of the
safety personnel at the commencement of each shift in the language and level of understanding. Tool box talk
format is in Annex. The tool box talk topics are:
• Last Incident, Accident or Near Miss If any.
• PPE.
• Working at heights.
• Scaffolding.
• Falling Objects.
• Electrical.
• Road Transportation.
• Permits to work.
• Lifting Operation.
• Cleaning Of Piping.
• Pressure Testing
• Barricade.
• Housekeeping.
• Scope of work to be performed.
• Safety aspects of the work to be performed, hazards in the work location and the ones related to job.
• Safe work system shall be discussed and effectively executed.

15. HSE Audit Program

To improve SHE performance by measuring compliance of findings through Internal & SABIC SHEM Audit
To verify that the Management System is adequate & functioning.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

SHEM SPONSOR – shall announce for SHEM Internal audit

 One of the Operation & Maintenance Managers shall be the SHEM Internal audit chairman & members are the
following:

1. Operation / Maintenance Superintendent


2. Section SHE Heads
3. Fire Section Heads
4. Environmental Engineer
5. Industrial Hygienist
6. Safety Engineer

The audit team leader shall publish schedule one (1) week before the audit
Internal Audit shall be conducted once every year

Self Audit

 Annual self-audit evaluation shall be conducted for each SHEM Element administrator & sub-elements
Administrator.
 Shall be submitted to SHEM sponsor
 Status report shall be issued to SHEM Sponsor & SHEM Coordinator at least every six (6) months until all
outstanding actions items are resolved

Actions plans shall always be considered.

16. Fire Extinguishers

DCP (Dry chemical powder) CO 2 AND Foam Fire extinguisher shall be provided by Cummins and
maintained in good working condition. As a part of the HSE-training program by Sabic, Cummins personnel
are trained in the use of fire extinguishers to fight with fire. Periodic checks are made of fire extinguishers to
ensure that they are ready for use. Storage and lay-down areas will be laid out in accordance with client
standards. Fire extinguisher checklist format is in Annex.

17. Incident Report


All accident and incident, however small, shall be reported. Following an accident or incident an oral report shall
be made immediately to the local safety officer and the immediate supervisor. Cummins Accident and incident
report shall be completed for all accident and incident not matter how small they may appear to be. (A judgment
on seriousness will be made at a later stage). An immediate oral report shall be made to Client in the case of
all: The Incident Report format is in Annex.
• Fatal injuries
• First Aid
• Injuries requiring medical attention that results in lost time.
• Any damage to client property.
• Fires
• Damage and all accidents involving cranes and heavy equipment.
• All work-related injuries.
• Traffic accident. All incidents with the potential to cause personal injury or damage to property.
• Incident report submitted by ‘ Y ‘form as SABIC standard

18. First Aid Facilities


Sabic shall provide and maintain adequate first aid facilities at the Replacement of DG set shall make available
an emergency vehicle to transport injured personnel to the nearest health care facility. First Aid Checklist is in
Annex.

19. Emergency Response Procedures


Emergency: A fire, explosion, toxic release or condition that poses an immediate threat to the
safety of life to persons or serious damage to property or environment.

Emergency Operations: Activities related to emergency incidents, including response to the scene of
the incident and specific duties performed at the scene.

Emergency Response Plan (ERP): A documented and exercised plan of incident mitigation;
formulated after conducting a hazard assessment of the subject area or condition.

Emergency Response Team (ERT): An organized group of employees within who are designated,
knowledgeable, trained, certified and skilled in firefighting, hazardous materials, first‐aid and technical
rescue operations and related activities.

In all cases when working within a Client controlled area personnel shall be instructed and fully aware of the
in-place emergency response procedures laid down by SABIC and fully comply with all requirements.

• Give the location of the emergency specific area.
• Give the extent and nature of injury, if known.
• Give any details that may be important in a rescue.

Evacuation /Emergency Procedure Upon hearing “Emergency Alarm” every Supervisor


shall ensure the following:
• All work should stop immediately.
• All equipment should be shut down.
• All personnel are evacuated to the pre‐determined assembly point.
• A roll call is taken and every person is accounted for.

The Safety Monitors are responsible for:


• Familiarizing personnel with emergency procedures.
• Acting as liaison between management and their work area.
• Ensuring that occupants have vacated the premise in the event of an
evacuation, and for checking assigned areas.
• Knowing where their Designated Meeting Site is and for communicating
this information to occupants.
• Having a list of personnel in their area of coverage, so a head count can be
made at their Designated Meeting Site.
• Evaluating and reporting problems to the Emergency Coordinator after an emergency event.
• Posting the "Area Evacuation Plan" in their work areas, communicating plan to
occupants, and updating the plan annually.
20. Electrical Work

All electrical work shall be done under the supervision of certified electrical personnel in accordance with Sabic
requirement.
All tools shall be equipped with proper safeguards and used only in application for which they were designed.
Portable power tools should be of the double insulated type or three wire grounded type.
Plug fitting will be of an approved industrial type. Electrical power extension cords and welding cables shall not
be coiled while use. Cords/cable shall be kept at least 2.0 meters off the ground level to protect from tripping
hazards.

21. Electrical Equipment and Inspection/Hand and Portable Power Tools

• The condition of the hand tools must be checked before they are used.
• Electrical power tools must be checked for defective cords, cracked plugs etc. before use.
• All electrical power tools must be grounded before use.
• Ensure guards are kept in place on all power tools.
• Before making repair or adjustments to a power tool, the power source must be disconnected.
• Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment must be used while working with power tools.
• Use the correct tools for the job.
• Ensure fellow workers in the immediate vicinity are warned before using power and striking tools. No
general-purpose extension cords shall be used in areas requiring explosion proof fittings.
• All the electrical tools and equipment shall be inspected by client Electrical Section and possess a valid
inspection sticker prior to enter inside the plant.

22. Working at Heights

Special precautions shall be planned and implemented for all elevated work to protect persons working at
height.
Cummins will provide safe working platforms e.g., scaffolds, man lift etc. when working above 1.8 Meter.
Where fall distance exceeds 1.8 Meters, scaffold, ladders, catch platforms or safety harnesses with double
lanyard attached to lifelines or substantial objects for the 100% fall protection shall be used. Cummins shall
provide proper fall protection with the worker working at height.

23. Confined Space Entry

If there is any work location inside confined space the work preparation (e.g., the confined space work permit
with relevant documents as JSA, Risk Assessment, Rescue Plan and methods of statement etc.) shall be
required.
The work responsible personnel as superintendent or supervisor shall brief the task of the date with safe
practices as tool box meeting prior to work start.
No one may enter any vessel or manhole without specific approval and a current work permit, permit issuer and
receiver shall be do joint inspection of the site before issuing the permit and shall be conduct gas test, LEL must
be 0% for any type of hot work.
Prior to entering confined space all employees are required to log in & log out and to check the working
atmosphere to be monitored with gas tester. All Cummins employees shall follow the SABIC Confined space
entry Permit requirement.

24. Excavation

Cummins shall ensure that all excavation work is carried out according to the requirements of SABIC. All banks
1.2 meters high or more shall be sloped as per requirements and unless soil is analyzed by competent person
allowing a greater slope angle or shall be adequately shored.
Approved Drawing and as per the approved method of statement will perhaps be required in case of deep
excavation. Cummins ensures that access way to excavation area & excavation platforms such as stairs,
walking platform, temporary ladders etc., shall be provided. Those all things shall be inspected and approved by
competent personnel.

25. Civil Works

Cummins shall ensure that all civil work is carried out according the requirement of Sabic. Work will execute as
per approved method statement and MSDS of all chemicals must be present at site and employees will use
MSDS recommended PPE during the chemical handling. This is responsibility of Cummins to provide safety
training about handling of chemicals. All protruding reinforcing steel which employees could fall shall be
guarded to eliminate the hazards of impalement. No employee shall be permitted to ride neither concrete bucket
nor work under concrete bucket while bucket is being elevated or lowered into position. Employees will be
required to wear proper clothing, gum boots, rubber coated gloves, hard hat safety glasses to prevent cement
burn. Employees applying cement, sand and water mixtures through a pneumatic hose will wear face protection
in addition to safety glasses. No employee shall be permitted to place or tie reinforcing steel more than 6 feet
above any adjacent working surface unless the employee is protected by the use of a safety full body harness
or equivalent fall protection. Civil Works we will use Jack Hammer/Hand Shovel/Hand Tools for the Small
Excavations work &Concrete Chipping work/ to Repair/rectify for Generator Plot form works and Cable
Trenches.

26. Vehicles, Mobile and Mechanical Equipment

All equipment such as cranes, boom truck and earth moving equipment shall be inspected by approved 3rd
party inspection company prior to use in the plant.
Cummins will submit third party certificate of Lifting (Crane) equipment prior to use in the plant.
All operators of lifting equipment will be certified by third Party and local government valid license also. The
operator of equipment shall possess a valid government license and client authorization.
Operators of heavy equipment must leave the equipment in the safe condition at the end of the work day, and
remove the keys from the equipment, unless equipment is located in an Operating area.

27. Cranes & Rigging Equipment

All cranes shall be inspected by an approved 3rd. party inspection company and it shall be inspected Sabic prior
to mobilize at site, inspection sticker shall be available.
All lifting gears, hooks, slings, shackles and other equipment used for lifting purposes shall be used correctly by
trained and certified riggers and maintained in good condition and shall possess current month color code.
All lifting gears shall be certified by third party. All mobile lifting equipment and crane operators shall possess a
valid heavy equipment operator's license and be certified by third party & Sabic to operate such equipment.
Lifting operations should be done by competent third-party certified Crane Operator and Rigger.
The Rigger should wear visible jacket to be easily identified at job location. At least two riggers to be assigned
for any lifting activities, only certified rigger is allowed to control the load by tagline.
Lifting & Hosting
Cummins has full responsibility for safe operation when using hoisting equipment to make lift. Cummins shall
verify the weight of all loads prior to being lifted. Hazards energy control program shall be the part of load lifting
risk assessment and job hazard analysis. No load shall be lifted which exceeds the manufacturer’s rated
capacity of crane and Hoisting equipment.
During hoisting operations, the load shall be controlled from ground by means of one or more ropes, “Taglines,
“to prevent the load from turning and swinging. Lifting operations can only be carried out with assistance of a
competently trained signalman.

28. Security Procedures

The security procedures of client shall be complying with Cummins personnel, including the use of ID cards.
Cummins do not have any special security requirements. Any material losses or thefts while on client premises
will be reported to the client Security Department.

29. Traffic Plan

Vehicle Entrance to Plant Area is prohibited unless prior Authorization has been obtained. All vehicles entering
inside the plant shall have a valid Vehicle Access Pass in accordance with client Safety Procedures.
Speed limits to be strictly adhere to on plant road as specified by the client driving rules. Vehicles are restricted
to make up roads only. No overtaking inside the plant area is allowed. Parking of vehicle should only be at
appropriate designated places only. No parking of vehicle will be allowed near the plant facilities. Wearing of
seat belt should be strictly adhered to while inside the plant area. Movement of heavy vehicle inside the plant
road to be avoided as far as possible or escort by flagman, all heavy equipment /vehicle must equip reverse
with reverse alarm.
Client controls traffic movements and the control of vehicles on site. A lay-down / parking area will be allocated
for Cummins to use during the course of the work, vehicles shall be parked, handbrake applied, so that they are
not interfering with operations and so that they do not cause an obstruction, either to plant or other vehicles.

30. Hazardous Material/Waste Material

Cummins are responsible for the disposal of hazardous/ wastes material as per the client procedure, will take
into account the requirements of client. All waste shall be disposed of responsibly using a recognized and
approved waste disposal facility. Hazardous wastes as defined by the applicable local regulations will be stored
separately from non-hazardous wastes in accordance with applicable regulations, and Cummins shall Comply
project specific requirements, good waste management practices and provide all necessary PPEs as required
for the task.

31. Site Supervision, Housekeeping & PPE

Housekeeping:

Good Housekeeping practices as listed below shall be followed


• Only the materials and tools that are needed to carry out the required activities shall be
kept at the workplace.
• Trash, scrap, and debris shall not be allowed to accumulate.
• Departments shall ensure that arrangements are made for its disposal to keep the
accumulation to a minimum.
• Protruding nails and other sharp objects shall be removed or bent over in such a manner
that they no longer present a risk.
• Material and equipment shall be placed back in storage when the job for which they were
utilized is finished.
• Material and equipment shall not be stored, parked or left in a manner that obstructs access to;
◊ Fire extinguishers,
◊ Fire/water/gas valves,
◊ Electrical switches,
◊ Emergency showers/eyewashes, etc.
• Storage shelving, racks, cabinets, files, etc. shall be anchored and secured in a manner to prevent
tipping over.
• Stacking of material shall be done in designated places and located in such a
manner that material will not fall.
• While stacking proper clearance shall be allowed between the ceilings and the top of the stacks.
• Machinery related spills (i.e., oil, dust metal shavings, hydraulic fluids, etc.) onto walkways and
working surfaces shall be prevented with the use of collection bags or other effective means.
• Spills shall be immediately cleaned and disposed of properly.
• Potentially flammable and combustible materials shall be placed back in approved storage
cabinets at the end of each shift, or when not in use.
• Compressed gas bottles/cylinders shall be removed from the work area and placed in their
approved storage location at the end of each shift, or when not in use.
• Good housekeeping practices shall be followed & maintained all the time especially at the
end of the day before closing the permit.
• Personnel shall ensure that at the end of each shift, work areas and break areas are neat and orderly.
• Floors of work environments shall be maintained in a clean and oil free manner.
• Additionally, repair requests shall be prioritized in a manner that places the greatest
emphasis on reducing the level of employee exposure to a hazardous condition.
• Tripping hazards such as telephone lines, power cords, air lines, furniture, rope, hoses,
pallets, etc. shall not obstruct employee walkways, emergency exits, or stairs. If such a
practice is unavoidable, proper barricade and covering of the hazard shall be provided.
• After the maintenance of equipment or work location, the area should be cleaned and all
tools, used consumables, damage parts, etc.; should be removed by the concerned
section before clearing of PTW and tags to Operation.
• No material shall be kept on hand‐rails of stairways. Any pipelines or cables shall be
routed either overhead or underneath the stairs but not along stairways.
• Tools shall always be kept clean and shall be placed its designated location after its use.

unless they are prevented from falling by means of toe boards or guards.
• All access ways, passageways and emergency exits must be kept clear at all times.
• Stacked materials shall not project into access ways and passageways.
• All roads shall be kept clear of materials at all times and must be properly illuminated.
• All waste shall be thrown in waste bins or shredding machine.
• Wastes shall be classified and segregated in labeled containers according to their nature as general
waste, scarp material, combustible materials like oily and solvent contaminated rags, paper, hazardous
chemical waste, etc.
• All food waste shall be cleared off from site daily.
• Regular in‐house inspections shall be scheduled and carried out to monitor and maintain good
housekeeping.

Personal Protective Equipment


Cummins will provide monitor and ensure that each employee will wear and follow the guidelines in using
personal protective equipment.
• All project personnel entering the project site will comply with dress code Fire Retardant
clothing. Safety hats or helmets made in plastic of non‐conductive material; Bump caps
shall not be worn.
• Employees shall wear safety glasses at all times while on site.
• Employees shall wear safety goggles or face shields as eye and face protection when dealing with
chemicals or chipping guns and whenever there is a danger of flying particles.
• Welder shall wear an approved type of welding gloves.
• It is mandatory that all employees shall wear working gloves while working in the project
site and whenever there is danger of damaging their hands by handling rough surfaces or
substances that could burn, cut or tear.
• Gloves or loose clothing should not be worn where there is a danger of being caught up in
moving machinery.
• All employees in the jobsite shall wear safety footwear, boots or shoes with steel toecap protection.
• Employees are not allowed to wear short pants in the jobsite.
• Employees shall wear long cuff leather or insulating gloves when handling hot materials.
• Personnel who will be working in elevated areas more than six (6) feet with no
guardrails shall wear full body harness.

32. Contaminated Land

Some field execution sites will be located on sites where previous activities may have resulted in the
contamination of the soil and / or groundwater. Prior to the start of any work on site, it is important to review
any existing assessments and investigations to identify the potential risks and any areas of contamination. If
no assessments / investigations have been undertaken and there are reasons to believe that the site may be
contaminated, then steps should be taken to evaluate the site conditions and confirm responsibilities for the
existing site conditions and any associated problems due to field execution activities, prior to work starting.
Any assessments or investigations shall be agreed with the client. The potential for contamination to be
present on the site is normally determined. Desk study to identify any previous land uses that may have
resulted in contamination. These land uses can be on or adjacent to the site. Information relevant to a
preliminary investigation includes.

33. Air Quality

Those activities that have the potential to affect local air quality and cause environmental nuisance to local
residential and surrounding areas must be identified. Project Management must adopt appropriate control
measures to mitigate these impacts.
Dust, emissions and odors can adversely affect air quality.

34. Noise and Vibration

Activities that have the potential to cause environmental nuisance to client operations, local residents, local
wildlife and surrounding commercial activities must be identified. The adoption of appropriate control measures,
monitoring and close liaison with the client will assist in the mitigation of these impacts.

35. Working Hours

Per shift working hours will be 8 hours and there shall be one break after every 4 hours and weekly off will be
accordingly Saudi Labor Law .
36. Hot Works

Cummins will assign trained working crew for hot work activities. Sabic certified and trained fire watch will be
deputed with air horn as per the numbers of hot work activity. Fire watch will stay 30 minutes in the hot
worked location to monitor. Cummins will provide Dry chemical powder (DCP) fire extinguisher at a hot work
place. Cummins crew will follow Sabic approved hot work procedure to perform the hot work. Atmospheric
test shall be done before start hot work and during the activity.
Hot work location shall be isolated by a good quality OHSAS approved fire blanket.

37. Fire prevention & Control


The battery-operated smoke detector will be fixing inside the office, DCP/CO 2 fire extinguisher will be fix to
different location inside and outside the office.

38. Radiography Test


Cummins all works will be stop at radiography test area & Restrict entry by covering Warning Tape to prevent
radiation exposure to employees, Cummins will follow the client radiation procedure and approved JSA, and
distance, time, and shielding are the usual methods of reducing radiation exposure. Only Sabic certified
radiographer or contractor will be involve in radiation work.
Cummins shall maintain and keep the source of radiography safe in accordance with SABIC requirement.
Cummins shall ensure that any radiography source is with the prior written approval from SABIC in
accordance with its requirements.
Before starting the radiography test, a PA announcement or communication with the other contractor is
required.

39. Transportation, Handling & Storage of Materials


Cummins shall follow Sabic transportation guideline for the transportation of materials. Cummins
shall be ensuring that all materials must be secure properly during transportation. All heavy
Equipment shall be guided by certified flagman from the gate of SABIC to job area, and vehicle
entry.
Permit shall be issued by Sabic on the request of Cummins. Cummins shall be storing all materials
near the job site after clearance Sabic area owner, area to be barricaded and “TEMPORARY
STORAGE AREA “sign board to be posted.
Only approved containers and portable tanks will be used for storage of flammable or liquids. No more
than 100 liters will be stored in a room outside of a storage cabinet. Storage cabinets will be labelled with
conspicuous lettering “FLAMMABLE – KEEP FIRE AWAY”.
All hazardous/chemical materials will be stored & handle according the Material Safety Data Sheet.

40. Scaffolding
Cummins foreman will check scaffolding tag before use for work. Incomplete scaffolding platform will not be
used and inform to client/Cummins scaffolding supervisor to make safe for use. All scaffolding
platform will be built by third party certified Scaffolder and tag will be sign by third party approved
scaffolding supervisor or inspector.

41. Medical Surveillance and Substance Abuse


Cummins shall follow client’s requirements for pre-medical and or annual medical check-up.
Random Testing for employees suspected in drugs and alcohol abuse shall be conducted,
including Random Inspections at all Cummins premises and project sites. The list of annual
medical test is in annexes.

42. Demobilization
Cummins employees and equipment will demobilize after complete the work as per assigned
work scope. Welfare facilities will be removed from site in last phase of demobilization.

43. EHSS motivation Awards & Recognition Program


Cummins shall recognize the performance of every project-based craft employee by awarding an
EHS Man of The Month as per the below criteria and shall be awarded with certificates and an
equivalent amount of not less than 100 SAR for motivation of the employee, hence, some examples
of learning mechanisms to give some appreciation of their variety and power and their importance to
rational decision making.

44. Welfare facilities

Suitable and sufficient washing facilities, including showers where needed, will be provided or made
available at readily accessible places. Washing facilities will be provided in the same location as toilets
and changing rooms. Washing facilities includes a supply of clean cold, or running water, soap or other
suitable means of cleaning; and towels or other suitable means of drying. Rooms containing washing
facilities must be sufficiently ventilated and lit. Washing facilities and the rooms containing them must be
kept in a clean and orderly condition. Separate whole body washing facilities must be provided for men
and women, except where they are provided in a room where the door can be secured from inside and the
facilities in each room are intended to be used by only one person at a time. The welfare Facility Checklist
Format is in Annex.

Drinking water

• Wholesome drinking water must be provided or made available at readily accessible places.
• Every supply of drinking water must be conspicuously marked by an appropriate sign.
• Sufficient cups or other drinking vessels must be provided, unless the supply of drinking water
is in a jet from which persons can drink easily

Rest Facilities

• Sufficient, suitable rest rooms or areas must be provided or made available at readily
accessible places.
• Rest rooms and areas must be equipped with an adequate number of tables and seating with
backs for the number of persons at work likely to use them at any one time. Where necessary,
include suitable facilities for any woman at work who is pregnant or who is a nursing mother to
rest lying down. Include suitable arrangements to ensure that meals can be prepared and eaten
and means of boiling and maintaining water at an appropriate temperature.
