Summary

Based on the data gathered from my needs assessment, there are many teachers within

our district that are not familiar with Goosechase. When planning for our upcoming district-wide

professional development conference, our team planned several tech tools to teach. Our goal was

to empower teachers to use fun and engaging tools to enhance their lessons. After discussing

with my site supervisor, we agreed that I would teach Canva, Flip(grid) and Goosechase. For this

assignment, I will use Goosechase, and this workshop will coach teachers on how they can use

Goosechase to have students collaborate and communicate with one another, as well as be

assessed on their learning.

Needs Assessment
Media Specialists in our district meet together once a month to collaborate. At our monthly

meeting, we discussed our upcoming professional development conference that our district hosts

every year. I sent the team a Google Form to get their feedback based on their individual schools.

There were two platforms that stood out from the assessment, Flip and Goosechase. Therefore, I

ended up teaching both at our district conference. For this assignment, I chose to focus on

Goosechase.

Learner Analysis
Participants varied from different schools and positions. All of them were female and taught in

an elementary school setting, however some were homeroom teachers while others were support

teachers.

Task Analysis

Goal:
The goal of this professional development is
to instruct teachers on how to use the tool,
Goosechase, and integrate it into a unit of
study for their classroom.

Objectives: ● Teachers will understand how to set up

their own Goosechase and add their
own questions and tasks.
● Teachers will participate in a
Goosechase to know how the students
will operate it.
● Teachers will share ideas with one
another on how they might use
Goosechase in their own classroom.

use it? their classroom.
Data Analysis

Assessment

During the presentation, I was checking for knowledge by asking questions and reviewing their

discussion with one another. While they were participating in the hunt, I was roaming around

answering questions they had regarding how to use the platform. After the session was complete,

participants used Padlet to respond to how they would use Goosechase in their classrooms. This

gave me a clear idea of how well they felt they could utilize it and what information they gained

from the session.

Participant Evaluation
After participants had left the conference, I followed up with them by sending a survey and

asked them to review how they thought the session went. I also sent them their video and picture

submissions, per their request, so they could share with colleagues about their experience.

Reviewing their results gave me a clear idea of the areas that they enjoyed, as well as some

constructive feedback for some areas that I could improve on. One person said they wished they

had more time to look at the features themselves and work through it together. They have

requested that I come to their school and review it in further detail, which I plan to do in the new

year.
Reflection

Overall, I believe the professional development was a success. Due to the craziness of the

conference, and after self assessing, I believe it would have been more beneficial for me to teach

one session multiple times to allow for more participants and to not stretch myself as thin. I

taught three separate sessions on different platforms that day. The participants seemed very

enthusiastic about using Goosechase, and had a firm grasp on how they would like to implement

it in their classrooms, but one stated that they wanted more time to go over the features within

Goosechase and how to create one. Although I am meeting with them again in the new year, I
would like to strengthen the professional development by creating more space to build their own

Goosechase alongside me in the session.
