Aim: User Research:
Contextual Inquiry: In groups of two, conduct an interview with a newcomer to
VIIT Pune in trying to understand their perspective on way-finding in the campus.
Record the audio with the user’s permission. (If the user disagrees, take notes and
prepare transcripts). Try to follow as many sutras of contextual inquiry as
possible.

As the user disagreed to record the conversation, I wrote the notes and the
transcript of our conversation is as follow.

Interviewer 1-What is your name?


Student: Hello ...I am Student taking about my education I am direct second year
student as in diploma I am in computer stream. I am from Pune.

Interviewer 2- In which branch you have taken admission?


Student: I taken the admission in IT branch.AS I am in computer but I must
explore more in software so I could join it.

Interviewer 1-Which is your native place?


Student: I am Pune.I like my city and explore more.
Interviewer 2- What was your first impression about college when you entered
the college?
Student: Firstly, I explore the campus area. I like the campus as well as plants. It
refreshes the environment. I saw various department as well as VU university,
other fields college. It is so overwhelming experience.

Interviewer 1-Was it difficult for you to find campus and department building?
Student: Not at all, Because the guardian facility is available so they ask us which
stream your now? So according to that they told us the campus area as well as
department.

Interviewer 2: How was your experience locating your class room or building.
Student: Actually, I did at first, I have a problem to locate my building because I
did not know which building was allocated for which branch.

Interviewer 1:do you know the number of canteens we have here at VIIT?
Student: Well yeah, I guess roughly 3.

Interviewer 2: Did you know where the library was located at first?
Student: Actually, I’m fond of reading so I visited it as many as possible.

Interviewer 1: Were you able to successfully locate the student section office?
Student: Yes, I was.

Both Interviewer: Thank you so much it is nice to talking with you.


Student: yes, off course it is really great.

Conclusion:
Due to the facility available in the department as well as in the campus student
got great experience. As it was nice interview and we came to know more about
it.

Aim:
one-minute audio clips / transcripts from the interview . Each clip /
transcript should demonstrate our understanding of one of the sutras during the interview. Name file
according to the sutra.

Objective:
To understand sutras during the conversation.

Transcript Description:
In my transcript description I met a new student in my college campus.This was the first day for
her.
She asked to help him answer the questions regarding the college premises.
Till she gets complete information I will be there for help.

Sutras of contextual Inquiry:

Context:
As mentioned in the context model:
● Firstly, we introduced both of us.

● She asked me about the premises. I told her that it is actually a calm and educational
environment .

● Then , about the office opening.So, it is opened at 9 A.M.They also give suggestions about
the queries.

● Furthermore, she asked about the libraries. I told her that there are various types of books
available in the library apart from the subject, we can also read other stories and
motivational books.
● After that we discussed the classrooms and project lab .There is also one project lab
available for the students who want to do their work apart from PBL.There are also various
hackathons available for the students who want.

● And here we discussed all the queries and I guided her accordingly.

● At last,the result was wonderful as she was happy with all the answers given by us.

This is how we followed the context sutras in our communication.

Conclusion:
Thus we understand how to draw the prototype design of our project.
