QIS is a quality inspection service company which
was established in 2000 with the registered office
at Green Building, Road No.02&08, Dong Xuyen
Industrial Zone, Rach Dua Ward, Vung Tau City, Ba
Ria - Vung Tau Province, S.R. of Vietnam. The
main focus of our businesses is in the fields of
green and high-tech Non-Destructive Testing,
Inspection, Heat Treatment, Accreditation and
Management Consultancy with IoT.
QIS’ management team, technicians, inspectors,

field supervisors and engineers gained many
extensive experiences whilst working in Vietnam,
South East Asian countries, Middle East and other
countries in the world.

2. Application of 3X material to repair underwater damaged pipeline
Step Construction Plan

1 Mobilization and system set up:
Mobilize personnel, equipment, material, and air
dive boat to the shore of Vinh Tan Power Plant
2 Survey and Excavation:

- Diver surveys to identify/ confirm the location of
the defect (leakage).
- Diver excavates the seabed by using pump
(suction excavation) and High-Pressure Water Jet
(for hard clay) techniques to expose the buried
pipeline at the location of the defect.


3 Repair Implementation:
S1/ Surface Preparation:
- Delimitation of the area to be repaired.
- Surface preparation with high pressure water
blasting or sand blasting (SA 2½ or ST3 with
roughness > 60 microns)
S2/ Hole and crack sealing system with or

without residual flow


S3/ Support Restructuring:
Fill the pits using the 3X filler. Apply the filler
tangentially to the pipe surface.
S4/ Pipe Primer Application

Taking the 3X underwater primer sample and
apply on the whole length to repair using a
cartridge/ gun system


S5/ Resin Preparation and tape impregnation:
Mix the 3X underwater resin. Apply the 3X
underwater resin on both side of the tape.
S6/ Wrapping Procedure

Start wrapping from one side respect the given
covering gap ensure continuous tightening while
wrapping (50% overlapping of the previous layer)

3. Application of 3X material to repair underwater leakage flange

1 Surface preparation with sandblasting. The
surface roughness should be superior to
60 µm
2 Primer application / putty application (if

needed) to ensure adhesion underwater.


3 Sealing flange gap and prepare resin injection
(in&out nozzles)
4 Reinforce sealing to sustain resin injection in

the flange gap

5 Implementation of the rigid sleeve and Resin

injection at low velocity with a pressure tank to
fill the gap
6 Resin injection completed : outlet full of resin


7 Cut inlet & outlet nozzle
