1. A 12V battery of 0.05 ohm resistance and another battery of 12V and 0.075 ohm resistance
supply power to a 2 ohm resistor. What is the current through the load using Superposition
Theorem.

2. Ten cells each of emf 1.5 volts and internal resistance of 0.2 ohm are joined in parallel and

3. Two batteries A and B are connected across each other with terminals of the same polarity
together. The open circuit emf and internal resistance of each battery is respectively 24V
and 1.5 ohms. Determine the resistance of a heating load connected across the parallel
combination of batteries so that the power consumed in the load is 100 watts using Norton’s
Theorem.

4. A resistance R is connected across two batteries A and B connected in parallel. The open
circuit emfs and internal resistance of the batteries are 12V, 2 ohms and 8V, 1 ohms,
respectively. Determine the ohmic value of R if the power absorbed by R is in maximum
value.

5. A 120V battery having an internal resistance of 0.5 ohms, is connected through a line
resistance of 9.5 ohms to a variable load resistor. What maximum power will the battery
deliver to the load resistor?

6. A variable resistor R is connected in parallel with fixed resistor of 1.25 ohms. The

the circuit.

the circuit?

16. A coil has a resistance of 10 ohms and a time constant of 1 second. If the coil is connected
across a steady potential 24V, how much is the current after 2ms?

17. A 500 ohm relay coil has an inductance of 10mH. The relay requires a current of 40mA in
order to trigger. How long after the switch is closed will the relay trigger if a 24V DC
source is applied across its terminals. Assume t=0, i=0.

18. A 6H coil whose resistance is 12ohms is connected in series with a 24ohms resistor and to
a 144V battery and a switch. The switch is closed at t=0. Determine the current at t=0.1
second.

19. A coil having a resistance of 10 ohms and inductance of 10H is connected in series with a
15 ohms resistor. A 200V DC source is connected to the circuit at t=0. Determine the
voltage across the coil at t=0.05 sec.

20. A series RL circuit is connected across a dc source through a switch. Three (3) milliseconds
after the switch is closed, the voltage across the inductance is 20V and drops to 5V after
20ms. If R=100 ohms, find L. Assume t=0, i=0.

21. A 1 ohm resistor is connected in series with a 2mH inductor. If a 12V dc source is suddenly
connected across its terminals, how long it will take, such that the voltage across the resistor
will be twice as that of the inductor.

22. An uncharged condenser in series with a 120V voltmeter of 10,000 ohms resistance is
suddenly connected to a 100V battery. One second later, the voltmeter reads 60 volt.
Determine the capacitance of the condenser.

23. A 120µF capacitor has an initial charge of 600µC. It is discharged through a 40 ohm
resistor. How long will it take in order for the capacitor to discharge to 150µC.
