As one of the earliest colleges in China specializing in the vocational education of
foreign trade, Shandong Foreign Trade Vocational College (SFTC) has obtained titles
Organizer’s like National Quality College, Shandong Quality College, Shandong Specialist College,
Information and Qingdao Branded College. Over the past 50 years, SFTC has trained more than
60,000 graduates, and our alumni have established more than 3,000 enterprises in
various scales, making outstanding contributions to regional economic and social
development. And now, it has 11,000 full-time students and more than 600 teachers,
capable of 24 majors covering international trade, e-commerce, logistics management,
etc. SFTC is honored as a chairman member of the National Advisory Committee on
Teaching English Language to Majors in Vocational Education under the Ministry of
Education, as well as a vice-chairman member of the National Advisory Committee on
Teaching Foreign Trade and Economies to Majors in Vocational Education. SFTC has
two large-scale training bases in Tai'an City and the west coast of Qingdao, in addition
to five research centers, including Free Trade Zone Research Center and
Cross-border E-commerce R&D Center. As a college under the Shandong Provincial
Department of Commerce, SFTC has huge potential to establish close ties with the
multiple municipal commerce bureaus in Shandong Province. Benefited from available
resources from the whole province, we have established cooperative relations with
thousands of enterprises, and co-established more than 200 off-campus training bases
in cooperation with well-known enterprises such as Hisense and Alibaba.
Since 2012, we have completed 272 foreign aid training programs of the Ministry
of Commerce, involving 9,158 trainees from 130 countries and regions. As of today
there have been 13 ministerial seminars, 23 "going out" overseas courses and 49
online courses. Through training, we have signed cooperation agreements with
relevant institutions in more than 50 countries such as Uganda, Uzbekistan and
Dominica, and set up 12 overseas training centers in Cuba, Liberia, Eritrea and other
countries. Our rich experience in foreign aid training has laid a solid foundation for us
to continue to undertake national foreign aid training tasks.
In recent years, we have successively organized foreign aid training programs
such as the “2019 Training Course on Refrigeration and Air Conditioning System
Technology in Samoa”, “2019 Overseas Seminar on Cold Chain Logistics
Management in Grenada” and “Seminar on International Logistics Management in
Developing Countries”, thus accumulating experience in training on cold chain
technology.
Our college is a member unit of Cold Chain Technology Branch of China
Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, and also a member unit of Cold Chain Branch
of Qingdao Logistics Association. Our school of logistics management (cold chain
technology) has been closely cooperating with Shanghai University of Science and
Technology and Shandong Institute of Commerce and Technology (National Research
Center of Modern Logistics Engineering Technology for Agricultural Products) to assign
sufficient teachers and provide a visit guarantee for foreign aid training projects
regarding the cold chain.
