ASSESSMENT OF STUDENT LEARNING 2

Instructor: Arnulfo Aaron R. Reganit, Ed.D.

Goals:

At the end of this activity, I must be able to:

1. construct a well-organized holistic rubric;

2. recognize the benefits of making a score rubrics; and
3. understand mindfully how to utilize scoring rubrics to objectively score performances.

Reflection:

Creating a rubric for a particular activity is not easy for a beginner like me
because before the performance of the students, as a teacher we have to set a
standard by which we expect to see in the output of our students. Also, we have to be
unique, explicit, concise, coherent, and careful with the use of words that are perfectly
suited to your activity and expectations. Furthermore, I learned that the rubric guides the
student toward excellent performance and helps the teacher to assess the performance
and product of students. Hence, as future educators, we need to put value and effort
into developing a scoring rubric to assure that we assess the performance of our
students fairly and credible.
