Assignment Brief and Guidance
For this assignment, you will introduce your story of the self through a written personal essay and
in-class oral presentation.

Your story of self -personal essay- should reflect an increased sense of self-awareness by
demonstrating your ability to identify your values, goals, strengths and weaknesses and how they
shape the story of yourself (who you are). It should demonstrate your understanding of the
concepts discussed in class and how they influence your daily life.

Please use font Times New Roman Size 12 with 1.5 spacing for the written report, which should
be somewhere between one to two pages (500 – 1000 words). This is a personal essay, so you do
not have to do any external research for this paper. However, if you do consult any external sources
you must cite your sources and provide a bibliography.

Your Presentation of the story of the self should demonstrate your ability to deliver a presentation
to an audience (your classmates) and employ presentation skills discussed throughout the
semester.

The presentation should be five minutes long. You are encouraged to use any accompanying
methods such as PowerPoint slides and videos. Please be ready to turn your camera while
delivering your presentation. If you have any technical difficulties, please contact the IT department
beforehand to sort them out.
