are currently part of and list the significance of each community in your life. You are allotted 10
minutes to accomplish the task.
What communities are you part of? How significant are these communities in your life? Why are
these communities important in the bigger scheme of society?
Discuss as a group:
Communities play an important role in every aspect of our lives. We have communities in
our friends, our families, our employment, our neighborhoods, and in so many other places.
We find community in the sports teams we support, or the artists we enjoy, even the food
that we like. Having a sense of community unites us. Being a part of a community can make
us feel as though we are a part of something greater than ourselves. It can give
us opportunities to connect with people, to reach for our goals, and makes us feel safe and
secure.
Communities with shared interests, values, thoughts and attitudes encourage us to live
better, strive for more and focus on the results we're looking for, creating a sense of
belonging, acceptance, understanding and inspiration. Communities you are involved in and
have contributed to shaping who you are today.
We are part of a group of people that wish to help one other, whether socially or
professionally, as members of a strong community. Unanimity toward a single objective is
what makes a community powerful. By shopping locally and preferring your services over a
chain, a strong community can assist support your small business. A community can assist
you with home and lawn maintenance, whether by offering skilled assistance or simply
walking over to a neighbor's house and assisting with a project. With after-school activities
and day centers, the community can even assist you with your children.
It’s important for every person to have a sense of community. A strong community can
greatly benefit families and businesses in a variety of ways. In an age where technology
both connects us and separates us, a local community can greatly benefit our well-being
and can increase our contentment in day-to-day life. As we get older, it can sometimes get
harder to connect with the people around us. But, that connection will ultimately ease
stress and feelings of loneliness.
Big or small, a community can provide countless opportunities for growth and experience.
With a community of people looking out for your best interests and working together for a
common goal, there is no shortage of opportunities to strive for something that you want.
Whether that is looking for your first job or starting your own business, a strong community
can give the support you need to succeed.
A strong community provides an environment of safety and security. You should feel secure
in your own neighborhood. You should feel secure that your city is protecting you and that
your neighbors are looking out for you. You should feel a peace-of-mind when your kids go
trick-or-treating, and feel safe when you go for a nighttime jog. No place is perfect, but you
should always feel a sense of security when a part of a community.

Reflection 1. Me, Myself, and I
Topic:
According to Mahatma Gandhi, one must "be the change you want to see in the world." In this light,
how can you embody this ethos in your status as an individual?
Essay
Who we are now is not who we were last year, last week, yesterday or even a minute ago. Life
never stands still, no matter what we do. Change is the very nature of existence--our thoughts,
feelings, beliefs, ideas, even our relationships are as changeable as rain and sunshine, or night
and day. But, as much as change is inevitable, it is not always welcome or easy to deal with. It
can upset our world and generate many conflicting feelings.
Mahatma Gandhi famously said, "You must be the change you want to see in the world." In
other words, although life changes are inevitable, we can also initiate personal change so we
can rise to the challenge and become a bigger and better person as a result. How do we do
this? We believe the best ways are to recognize that change is inevitable, that there is always
the potential for positive change in every moment and to stay grounded and in touch with our
peace.
Everything that is happening right now will change into something else; every thought and
emotion, no matter how strong or dramatic, will become irrelevant one day. We get suffocated
and stuck if we do not change. Because nothing lasts forever, we can savor every moment
because we know it will never happen again. As you settle into a quiet spot, softly breathe in
and out, silently repeating: And this, too, shall pass.
Just as palm trees change dirty rainwater into sweet coconut milk, we have the ability to
transform fear into courage, greed into love, and loss into new beginnings at any time. Spring
has arrived, bringing with it new life, and we, too, are capable of creating new lives for ourselves
in each and every moment. Life is, without a doubt, about not having answers and taking
chances, all while not knowing what will happen next. Sitting calmly and cheerfully breathing,
say silently: I open my mind and heart to new possibilities.
The ability to move with the waves, to paddle in the dip so we may ride the next crest, is the key
to metamorphosis. Meditation gives a space where we can learn to recognize and gently
release our grief, sadness, anger, fear, hurt, confusion, doubt, and all of our other contradictory
emotions. It lets us to accept, honor, and move with change by allowing us to be present with
whatever is. There may be a variety of thoughts, feelings, experiences, and images. Without
denying, pushing aside, or holding on, we observe. We can relax in stillness without fear of
being judged or discriminated against.
Guide Questions:
The negative character that I possess that only bring misfortune to me and to the people
around me. That hindrance me to connect to people with harmony and to success.
Like other said: “you always have to take the first step”. I know its not easy as 1, 2, 3 but if
you want to there’s always a way, I just have to focus on my goal and everything will fall into
place.
No one don’t want success in a good way of course and even introverts need few
people they can trust and build a strong connection with. But in order to attain this you
must be a better version of yourself so you can attract positivity and be surrounded with
people that will treat you with goodness and respect. If you show kindness and respect
to your fellow there is no other way that they don’t show you the same. In this way you
can filter people that you can close with or avoid.
