1.Interview your parents/siblings with their own experience in past which relates to

70's,80's and 90's culture.

70s - In the 1970s, social progressive values that began in the 1960s, such as increasing political
awareness and political and economic liberty of women, continued to grow. The hippie culture, which
started in the latter half of the 1960s, waned by the early 1970s and faded towards the middle part of
the decade, which involved opposition to the Vietnam War, opposition to nuclear weapons, the
advocacy of world peace, and hostility to the authority of government and big business. In the 70’s The
Disco scene was very popular in the 1970s. Atari was established in 1972, this company was the leader
in video gaming during the 1970s with games like Pong, which would become the first successful video
game. Bob Marley and reggae music was popular in the late 1970s. And Rock bands in the 70’s such as
British rock band Queen was considered to be one of the most influential bands of the '70s. Fashion in
the 1970s was about individuality. In the early 1970s, Vogue proclaimed "There are no rules in the
fashion game now" due to overproduction flooding the market with cheap synthetic clothing.

80s - In the 1980s, fitness became the new pleasure for both men and women as a healthful vacation
from the rigors of a busy working life. Some continued the 1970s practice of jogging, while others joined
health spas or clubs. The 1980s were the years that made the pre-Internet decade. Fashion was weird,
music was over-digitized and commercialism consumed everyone. The Cold War ended, which was
great. The Berlin Wall fell. The 1980s saw the emergence of electronic dance music and new wave, also
known as Modern Rock. As disco fell out of fashion in the decade's early years, genres such as post-
disco, Italo disco, Euro disco, and dance-pop became more popular. Rock music continued to enjoy a
wide audience. The 1980s were the Golden Age of Rap music for the emergence of a new musical form.
They gave the artists, who were formerly silenced, a chance to express themselves lyrically. The 1980s is
a decade that is often remembered for its significant contributions in shaping the tech of the future. The
release of Nintendo GameBoy and NES, the rise of Sony Walkman and Trinitron TVs, the popularity of
Casio calculator watch, and the craze for the Video Home System or VHS define the eventful ten years to
a large extent.

90s - The '90s were known as the "Year of the Denim" in the fashion world, with baggy and ripped
jeans, as well as denim jackets and chain wallets, becoming trendy. Teenagers also liked striped
sweaters, jumpsuits, and unbuttoned flannel shirts. During the 1990’s there was a rise in the awareness
of multiculturalism compared to the 1980s, as well as the advance of alternative media. Music
movements like grunge, the rave scene, and hip hop became popular with young people worldwide,
aided by cable television and the internet. The 1990s saw advances in technology, with the World Wide
Web, the first gene therapy trial, cloning, and the first designer babies all emerging and being improved
upon throughout the decade. In 1990’s fusion genres as new jack swing, neo-soul, hip hop soul, and g-
funk which were popular.

3.Compare every decade's cultural trends (70's,80's and 90's) to our present culture.

70’s - Thanks to the era’s musical uniqueness and freedom of expression, the ’70s and their style are
something to which both designers and fashion-lovers are continuously drawn. From hippy and glam
rock to disco and bohemian, the decade encapsulates numerous iconic styles that are still wearable
today. Examples of this are the people that wear their own style of fashion as that defines them. Gaming
in the 70’s greatly impacted the games we have today as they were the ones that molded the
technology and passion in creating more detailed and fun games. And today women are being viewed as
an equal to man and being given equality. Today is not that popular as Disco declined as a major trend in
popular music in the United States following the infamous Disco Demolition Night, and it continued to
sharply decline in popularity all over the world as the years goes by. For the music of the 70’s, its genres
are still being played and are still popular even today.

80’s - Several styles of the 80s are still relevant today. Just a couple of examples include women having
several earrings in one ear and wearing denim jackets on denim jeans. And today Almost everyone likes
to take time out from a world of work and relax once in a while, but in today’s standards not from going
to the gym and working out and exercising the body but a way of relaxing that has become popular
amongst the people of today’s society is to take a vacation. This action has taken off with the people of
today’s society. However, a vacation can mean several different things to several different people. For
some people a vacation might be a chance to relax, while to others, a vacation might mean to leave their
professional work for a while, only to do another different kind of work. Today, people cycle to be fit
and it has been popular due Covid-19 as it brought about a dramatic increase in bicycle sales in response
to the pandemic. Heightened anxiety over public transportation and a surge in exercise has meant that
more and more are choosing to use one of the most basic forms of mobility. back in the day when
people hop into the car and turn the radio on, the first thing they hear is the new pop or hip-hop music.
Today’s generation listens to music that has a nice beat and catchy lyrics. The music they created was
original and easy to jam out to. Rock and roll used many instruments to make the sound even better,
without using auto tune, like today’s music which does not make the artists as unique. Also, Technology
since the 1980s, the unraveling of a Beta or VHS tape is no longer an issue for families who want to rent
or own a movie; the DVD has changed the game. Additionally, people are now able to stream movies
directly from the Internet to their TV.

90’s – Technology in the today’s society has now become such a huge part of our lives that most of us
probably use it daily. Technology helps us in a number of ways, from the cars we to drive to the
medicine we take; it's even involved in little things from what kind of cell phones we have to what sort
of screen we use to stream our favorite TV shows. In the '90s, listening to music was all about rocking
your Discman with CDs or with cassette tapes recorded off the radio. But today, it’s all about the MP3
player and the smartphone — and if you're not using either of those, you're definitely streaming tunes
from Spotify or YouTube. In Today’s society Browsing the internet today is pretty different — we have
more choices for web browsers, more customizations for our Internet speed. Today, you can certainly
still use a television set to watch TV, but you can also stream TV shows and movies from your laptop,
phone, or tablet. you can even stream media while it's live or download it later pretty much at the drop
of a hat. No more trips to Blockbuster, but back in the 90’s Music was cleaner. There wasn’t a lot of
songs about sex or a lot of songs with cruse words in it which made the radio stations great for children
to listen to. At least parents did not have to worry about their children hearing a song about drugs every
time a song comes on the radio. but in today’s society there are still a few songs that are well produced,
well-written and still be popular without using one curse word or without talking about sex. But who
knows, maybe in a few decades the music known today will be better than the ones made in the future.
We will just have to let time tell us that.
