Job Safety Analysis for BCIS Piling

The document provides a job safety analysis for BCIS (bored cast in-situ) piling work. It identifies potential health and safety hazards at each step, including being struck by a toppling rig, back pain from augering, pinch points, flying spoils during boring, and being struck by moving rig parts or attachments. Control measures are outlined such as using competent operators, maintaining a safe distance from equipment, and wearing proper personal protective equipment.

Annexure G: Job Safety Analysis (BCIS Piling Work)

Introduction

Job Safety Analysis (JSA)

Safety is essential and imperative part of the construction field and especially for BCIS Piling Work. This document describes Job
Safety Analysis (JSA) for BCIS Pilling Work

Conducting the analysis:

1. Select jobs with the highest risk for a workplace injury or illness.
2. Select an experienced employee who is willing to be observed. Involve the employee and his/her immediate supervisor in the
process.
3. Identify and record each step necessary to accomplish the task. Use an action verb (i.e. pick up, turn on) to describe each step.
4. Identify all actual or potential safety and health hazards associated with each task.
5. Determine and record the recommended action(s) or procedure(s) for performing each step that will eliminate or reduce the hazard
(i.e. engineering changes, job rotation, PPE, etc.)
