FRIENDSHIP

When you are looking for a friend, what is

the most important thing for you? Do you
want someone who is attractive or is it
more important that, he or she, has a nice
personality?
We asked a number of teenagers for their
opinions and this is what we found out.
Most teenagers have friends who are
similar to them.
They have the same education, which
isn´t surprising since most of us make
friends at school. They also choose friends
whose behavior is similar. Well-behaved
children like other well- behaved kids.
Interests are also important. Sporty
teenagers often like other teenagers who
take an active interest in or who are
enthusiastic on keeping fit.
What about different kinds of relationships, not friends but boy/girl friends? Most girls we asked, liked their
boyfriends to be funny and to make them laugh but they also wanted them to be thoughtful, kind and, (of
course,) romantic. Most of them told us that, when they have an argument with their boyfriends, it was usually
because the boys have forgotten something important like a birthday or a date.
There are many opinions about friendship; for instance, for Natalie, friendship is a feeling that a person shares a
close affection, common beliefs and values with friends. Samantha thinks that, a friend is a person with whom
one can share their secrets, experience and feelings. On the contrary, Tommy thinks that it is very difficult to
have a girlfriend now, because he can´t find a girl with his similar interests. The Smith twins, Lucy and Lolo,
believe that friendship is the most important feeling in the world.
