Third Grade Course Syllabus

Objectives:
Students will demonstrate their language skills by completing quizzes and interactive games to help them
understand the eight parts of speech.
Students will complete these quizzes and interactive games with a passing grade of a C or higher.

The due dates for this course are as follows:
12/4: Nearpod lesson under assignments tab on Weebly cite.
12/5: Padlet review located under the curation tool tab on Weebly cite.
12/6: Quizizz quiz located under the interactive tool 3 tab on Weebly cite.
12/8: Kahoot quiz located under the interactive tool 2 tab on Weebly cite.
12/10: Blooket game located under the interactive tool tab on Weebly cite.
12/10: Quizlet located under the interactive tool 4 tab on Weebly cite.

Assessment
Learning Objectives for this course will be assessed through the following:
- Assessment quizzes upon unit completion
- End of 9 week exams
- Summative assessments
- One-on-one interviews.

Remediation
Remediation for this course will be offered by office hours available during free period or
appointment.

Grading Criteria
100 - 90 : A Homework: 30%
89 - 80: B 9 Week Exams: 20%
79 - 70: C Quizzes: 25%
69 - 60: D Final Exam: 25%
59 - 0: F

Feedback
Feedback will be provided:
-At the end of the month on the check in form sent home

-Students will receive 2 copies. One is for parents to keep, and one is to be signed and returned

to the teacher.

-Students will receive progress reports at the end of every 9 weeks

-Teacher feedback will be given throughout the course via email or class dojo.

Social Media Tools


This class uses the class dojo app to monitor student behavior and day to day activities as well as what is
expected monthly.
This page is meant to keep the parents and students in contact with one another. On this app you
will find reminders for upcoming school events, due dates for upcoming projects and assignments, and
messenger for parents and teachers to utilize for communication.

Students will be expected to:
-Come to class on time and prepared
-Come to class with the necessary supplies and materials
-Turn in assignments by the due date posted
-Check in with teacher after an absence for missed work
