Job Description:
Buyers collaborate with Merchandise Planners, Programming Managers, Television Team, Digital Quality
Assurance, and vendors to develop and create the product selection that sets HSN apart. This team develops
business strategies that drive sales through assortment selection, product development, pricing, presentation,
promotion and ROI.

A Day in the Life


● Developing new/unique product assortments with existing partners as well as sourcing/inviting new
partners who want to be part of HSN.
● Build and manage strong relationship with partners.
● Build category and merchandising strategies that drive category growth across all HSN channels of
distribution.
● Buying responsibility and financial accountability for category/ partners.
● Negotiating buying terms with vendors (price, quantity, delivery terms, and markdown $).
● Manage inventory levels with input from Merchandising team and Planning
● Presenting category recommendations monthly/quarterly twice annually to VP/Director of the
category:
○ Financials
○ Reasoning/Trends
○ Future Plans
● Developing financial plan for the vendor(s) (profitability targets, markup and receipt flow).
● Keep abreast of industry trends and new product ideas, and react accordingly to take advantage of
opportunity or mitigate risk.
● Attending to vendor/guest needs while on-site.
● Attract, motivate, and develop team
● Direct and coordinate work of team to ensure effective execution of strategy and attainment of goals.
● Partnering with Cross functionally with all groups leadership to convey vendor requests
● Partnering with Legal to ensure contractual obligations are met.
Product Development

Job Description:
Under the direction of the Manager of Sourcing and Product Development, this role is responsible for the
development, design and execution of a unique product assortment that is offered to patrons of the Masters
Golf Tournament. The ideal candidate should be a driver of innovation while relentlessly seeking continuous
improvement throughout the process; is attentive to detail/quality and has a strong degree of ownership. In
addition, enjoys being part of a highly collaborative team and has passion for what they do. Duties include:

● Development and designs for product categories from concept to package while maintaining the
product development timeline. Examples of product categories include: home textiles, drinkware,
candles, home accessories, office accessories, golf items, outdoor items, headwear, travel/luggage, etc.
● Keeps within the brand essence and identities, monitors, and studies global trends that will be
translated into innovative and appealing product initiatives that can be successfully and profitably
commercialized and produced.
● Understands and assists with the elements of cost of goods that include base cost, duty, freight, and art
as they relate to the financial plans.
● Negotiates favorable terms and pricing.
● Communicates with third party design consultants with respect to line and product development
efforts.
● Works closely with the Graphic Designer in the creation of CAD development and design concepts.
● Assists with coordination of trim details for products.
● Communicates with domestic suppliers as required.
● Tracks all approvals throughout the product development stage.
● Assists with visual merchandising efforts for finished product placement and display for Member and
Masters Tournament shops.
● Track samples, pricing, and production for all products being developed to maintain an organized
work flow for the department.
Retail Store Management

STORE MANAGER

All candidates must have 5+ years of Retail Management experience within a Big Box or Specialty
environment, with the ability to manage a multi-million dollar sales volume and expense budget. Candidates
must be available to work early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays as required. Travel may also be
required from time-to-time.
Visual Merchandising

Job Description:
Position Summary: The Graphic Designer position is responsible for developing innovative, eye-catching
visual concepts that communicate campaign ideas that increase brand awareness, help grow customer base, and
drive sales.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
○ Work closely with the Vice President, Production and Design, Print, eCommerce and
Broadcast and Photography Producers to ensure the planning, scheduling and budgeting of all
fashion and or product photography is completed within a timely manner while maintaining
budgetary constraints
○ Oversee all pre-planning, creative-conceptualization, set direction, photo direction,
production (print or digital), reviews and pre-press work.
○ Coordinates and direct the design of key print covers and print spreads
○ Coordinate and direct all key Digital Look Books
○ Prepares seasonal format guides for on and off-figure photography & hair & makeup per
project
○ Works with Vice President, Production and Design, Print, eCommerce and Broadcast & Art
Director Manager to develop and walk through project goals and seasonal creative Guides
○ Collaborates across the organization (with Merchants, Product Development, Marketing,
Production/Creative, and other teams to produce all aspects of layout and design to ensure
that all goals are met.
○ Ensures vendor requirements are adhered to ensure co-op collection
○ Ensures quality, consistency and accuracy of photography, copy, layout and graphic design
for ecommerce and print campaigns
○ Reviews and approves final creative proofs for all campaigns prior to passing to the

according-to deadline

Wholesale

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced, analytical and detail-oriented Sr. Manager, Wholesale to work closely with the
SVP of Retail Operations, Sr. Manager of Business Development, and cross-functional teams for the Williams
Sonoma Brand. This candidate will assist the SVP and Sr. Manager to successfully execute and manage new
business initiatives in a fast-paced, creative environment with a broad scope of valuable internal and external
partners.

As part of the Strategy & Business Development team, this individual will create a deep organizational
understanding of market and competitive trends, successfully drive individual and team projects, and develop
analysis of key capability-building initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess a business and technical background that enables them to drive engagements,
communicate to management as well as C-Level executives.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

PR/Social Media

Job Description:
The Director, Media Relations - Merchandise Initiatives is an advanced media relations position for a specialist
with 10 years of public relations experience. The appropriate candidate will be an experienced strategist with a
clear understanding of consumer / business media, excellent writing skills, and strong demonstration of
leadership. The Media Relations Director will lead activity in assigned areas of business - in this case with
content/pitching/responding to media for Macy's national merchandise initiatives (including fashion, home and
beauty) and cause-related campaigns. This person will be energetic, highly motivated, conscientious and
detail-oriented - a driven leader who takes initiative in developing new ideas and solving programs through
collaboration. This candidate is a high-potential executive who displays strong and positive leadership
potential, is proactive and aggressive in driving programs from start to finish, and is dedicated to championing
the company's business objectives and delivering performance results. This person will have responsibility for
budget oversight and management of several direct reports.

Essential Functions:
The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing effective communications plans to
support company goals and major programs. These include:

• Develops and implements short and long term strategies for major national programs (national merchandise
initiatives and cause-related campaigns)

• Monitors trend changes in earned, owned and paid media to inform strategies

Job Description:
The Personal Styling Assistant provides selling, clienteling, operational, and administrative support to the
Stylist.
Responsibilities include:
● Assist Stylist during the client appointment
● Build an appropriate relationship with clients
● Process POS transactions
● Enter and maintain accurate clientele information
● Follow up on alterations, sends, and the coordination of transactions
● Maintain appointment calendar
● Respond to clients' emails
● Provide the highest level of customer service
● Perform additional duties as required

Qualifications:
● Excellent organizational and follow up skills
● Must be able to successfully multitask and problem solve
● Must possess excellent communication skills
● Must be computer proficient
● Previous retail sales experience is preferred
