TOPIC/LESSON OUTLINE
In 100 words or less, discuss the role of the youth in nation building through NSTP.
The role of the youth in nation-building or development is very important, because we all know that
the youth of today's generation already know a lot about things that will develop or organize a
society, that's why the impact of today's youth in our country is really huge. An example of this is their
knowledge of different technologies and tools that provide knowledge to them and other people
As Swami Vivekananda once said, 'My faith is in the younger generation, the modern generation and
out of them will come to my workers. This quote describes the impact the Youth can have on society.
More than 60% of the Youth helped Germany win the First World War far better or the worst. The
mission to make the first person walk on the moon consisted of more than 80% of the Youth who
helped in planning the whole mission. Likewise, Indian Youth also played an important role to make
our country free from British rule. Youth has the power to change the world. When the Youth is
united, we can make the world a better place to live, and when we are divided, we also have the
power to destroy the world.

REFLECTION
As one of the student-trainees in NSTP-CWTS 1, give your reflection on the NSTP Law
particularly in Sections 4, 5, 6, and 7. Using at least 100 words.
The National Service Training Program (NSTP) is a curriculum that prepares people in any of

the three program components while cultivating the principles of service, citizenship, and
patriotism, according to the NSTP statute, namely sections 4, 5, 6, and 7. Its goal is to
improve defense planning and awareness among young people who advocate for causes.
The National Security Training Program (NSTP) aims to improve and integrate values
education, innovative behavior and inspirational motivation, a sense of patriotism and
nationalism, and sustained economic and social mobilization for youth development,
neighborhood advancement, and public safety. Another benefit of NSTP-CWTS was cited as
the female implementers' aptitude for communicating, listening, and interpersonal
interactions. They started to actively practice awareness, nationalism, service, and patriotism
through the qualities of interpersonal connections as a result of becoming acutely aware of
the advantages of health education.

the causal-comparative design was used to assess the
difference between the independent variables and dependent
variable. According to Gay and Airasian (2000), the causal-
comparative aimed at making cause and effect statements
about the performance between the independent variables and
dependent variable. The difference or effect of the independent
variables is called the dependent variable because it is
dependent on what happens to the independent variable.
Findings
A researcher-made questionnaire was used as the main instrument in gathering data. It consisted of two (2) parts. Part I elicited
responses for the demographic characteristics of the respondents. Part II focused on eliciting responses for the main problems of the
study. The questionnaire was pre-tested to twenty (20) students who were not included in the final survey and expected to test the
validity.
It was a combination of checklist and the Likert method with summated ratings. For the checklist portion, suggested responses were
enumerated with the respondents indicating their choices with check (√) marks.
On the other hand, the Likert Summated Rating Scale is a set of attitude items, all of which are considered of approximately equal
attitude value, and to each of which subjects responded with degree of agreement and disagreement (Keslinger, 1979).
The scores of the items of such scale were summed and averaged to yield an individual attitude score. Using the Likert Method, five (5)

responses were used to describe the assessments of the respondents to the benefits derived in the implementation of CWTS. Starting
with a particular category, all favorable responses were scored five (5) through one (1) and unfavorable responses were scored in the
opposite order.
The items of the questionnaire were checked for validity against other similar instruments used in some related studies. Face validity of
the items were also checked to guarantee that each and every item was, indeed, related to problems stated in Chapter 1.
Below is the scale used to describe and interpret the data:
Data gathering procedures
The validated Questionnaire checklist was administered in the to the target respondents through the assistance of faculty members
handling NSTP subjects.
The responses obtained from the administered questionnaire checklist and those elicited from the informal interviews were tabulated
and treated based on the appropriate statistical formula used.
