Blockchain and the increasing adoption of digital currency are changing the financial industry and will

upend the status quo. In parallel, the pandemic has forced us to adapt to new ways that opened and
accelerated digital business operations. As the world has shifted to adapt to this new reality, I am eager to
earn a Master’s of Business Administration degree from Thompson Rivers University to participate and
lead in this new world of finance.

The seeds of business and economics were first sowed by my father’s business in Chittagong, Bangladesh,
but blossomed when I formally pursued my bachelor's in business administration at East West University,
a leading university of Bangladesh. The university and its courses offered me knowledge regarding business
and how to build networks in its environment, where I excelled with 80 to 83 percent marks. During my
time at the university, I was recognized for organizing two leadership events and three seminars.

After completion of my bachelor’s degree, I have been working in the corporate environment for nine years,
seven of them in the financial industry working at top-tier multinational banks. My banking knowledge
grew at Standard Chartered Bank, where I worked in several departments of trade operations and achieved
two promotions in five years. Afterward, I moved to Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC)
as an Analyst, business development office manager where I was accountable for a branch’s day-to-day
operations. Even Though this was my first management position, I was recognized shortly after and was
promoted to lead a cluster’s regulatory reporting team, where I am working currently. During the last few
years, I have earned numerous recognitions for outstanding service, being a team player, and project works.

For my career progression, I would like to pursue an MBA in Canada, which has a diversified culture along
with high-quality education. Among its top-ranked universities, Thompson Rivers University which has
excellent infrastructure facilities with distinguished faculty members and many accreditations appeals to
me the most. The program structure of an MBA consists of courses like decision analysis and modeling,
advanced corporate finance, and strategic management will help to understand the financial environment
of my clients, which will allow me to design and deliver better financial services. Thus, I am confident that
this degree will help me to grow as a manager, an analyst, and a financial expert that certainly makes me
an asset in my home country and my current organization.

I firmly believe that MBA at Thompson Rivers University has a lot to offer me and at the same time, I am
confident that I would be able to make a positive contribution as well. I am aware of the kind of devotion,
resilience, and determination it may require and I consider myself to be adequately prepared. I look forward
