Introduction
The reason why we chose this kind of study is that it focuses on the mental
health of freshmen students who are experiencing face-to-face classes. As the
community quarantine starts on March 12, 2021, in Metro Manila (Office of President
Secretary, 2020). It is a big adjustment for them because the 2 years pandemic
changed their ways of how to learn and develop knowledge. Some students might be
less motivated to publicly discuss their issues because of the stigma associated with
mental health. Contrary to appearances, a lot of students deal with mental health
concerns (Cooper, T. 2022).
Some impacts of online learning on the mental health of students are social
isolation, stress and anxiety, and virtual learning fatigue (High Focus Center, 2020).
High levels of anxiety were more likely to be reported by students other than
freshmen whereas high levels of despair were linked to difficulties focusing on
academic work (Kecojevic A. et al., 2020). A student's energy level, concentration,
dependability, mental ability, and optimism can be affected by mental health issues,
which can hinder performance (Wang et al., 2021).
According to Anxiety Centre (2021), the notion that solid social connections
improve people's mental health. In terms of preventing depression, phone calls and
digital communication with friends and family are less effective than in-person social
interactions. Our entire mental health improves when we socialize because it gives
us a sense of security and belonging. Individuals have the opportunity to attend a
classroom with other students and engage in social interaction through face-to-face
learning.
With many schools now gradually transitioning to face-to-face classes, the
Commission on Human Rights (CHR) said it is “crucial” for the government to help
address the mental health of both the teachers and the students. In fact, according to
the Executive Secretary of the Commission on Human Rights, Atty. De Guia, a
survey was conducted and it reveals that 54.7 percent of students noted that their
physical and mental health was negatively impacted because of distance learning.
She cited that in October 2020, 13 cases of students committed suicide, with
reasons linked to the pressure of accomplishing their academic requirements while
coping with the pandemic (Ki, 2022).

Methodology
Research Design
The method used in this study was the qualitative Case Study design that
explores and discusses the experiences of the student Mental Health through Face-
to-face Classes.
Data Collection
The strategy used by the researcher for the data collection is a thorough focus
group discussion. This discussion ensures getting enough amount of data supply
and the information needed for the study. Hence, the researcher is still putting effort
Research Instrument
The researchers will use Focus Group Discussion (FGD) type of instrument in
gathering the data that is needed. The researchers of this study will use the BSCE
Freshmen data on the impact of face-to-face classes to the mental health of BSCE
Mindanao asking permission to conduct the study, noted by the researchers and
professor. The researchers will use the Focus Group Discussion type of research
instrument to gather data that we needed. The researchers gathered the records for
tallying, analyzing and interpreting. Confidentiality using the data will be observed.
Data Analysis
and gathered data. Identifying any patterns representing concepts the participants
represented during the data collection time is the objective. Data were recognized
into logical categories that summarized and brought meaning to the manuscript of
notes. To address credibility, we will get the profile of each of the possible
those who meet the inclusion criteria shall be chosen as the participants of the study.
Data Privacy
relationship with the understanding that it won't be shared with anyone else without
consent, unless necessary to carry out the original revelation (Nevada, 2021).
Data Disposal
magnetic fields, shredding, or crushing. Hard drives can be far more difficult to
destroy than CDs, DVDs, and floppies, although many office shredders can handle
these items. By wiping the device or sanitizing it, specialized software can overwrite
