Sir,
This is in continuation to CICTAB letter even number dated 10th August, 2022 on
convening next meeting of General Council of Centre for International Cooperation and Training
in Agricultural Banking (CICTAB), Pune at New Delhi in physical mode. As per the decision
taken in the 23'd General Council of CICTAB held on 28.3.2022, it is required to conduct the
next General Council meeting within six months, i.€., in the month of September, 2Q22 I
October, 2OZZ. As per the practice, it is proposed to conduct the next Managing Committee
meeting and General Council meeting on the same day.

Z. The Memorandum of Association of CICTAB was amended in the 23'd General Council
meeting dated 28.03.2022 as given below:

"In view of the Govt. of India Notification No. CG-DL-E-0607202L-22BL4B dated 6th
July, 2021, the proposal of entrusting the position of President, General Council of
CICTAB to Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, Govt. of India and Chairman, Managing
Committee of CICTAB to Additional Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, Govt. of India
was considered by the General Council. The resolution was passed unanimously.

Since, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers welfare, Govt. of India has played a vital role in
the formation of CICTAB in 1983 and taking care of Agriculture & Farmers welfare, the
proposal of including Joint Secretary (Credit), Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare
as member of General Council as well as Managing Committee of CICTAB was
approved."

3. The Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India is the President of General

Council, CICTAB and Additional Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, is the Chairman of Managing
Committee. It is expected that 35 members from Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Bangladesh and
India willjoin the meeting.

9.2 Activities proposed for the Azadi Ka Amrut Mahatosav

The General Council has approved the proposal of CICTAB on

undertaking the following activities as a part of CICTAB acitivities
during the special year of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahatosav:

- Creation of awareness among youth to join cooperatives

activities
- Conduct of an lnternational Conference

9.3 Measures required to make CICTAB programme effective

The General Council has emphasized to undertake the mandated

activities indicated in Memorandum of Association which is
already reflecting in the Annual Calendar of Programme. All the
members will be requested to inform their training requirement in
terms of subject area, number of participants to be trained and
target group so that effective programmes can be organized.

9.4 Amendment in Memorandum of Association in regard to the

formation of Ministry of Cooperation

The General Council has noted the formation of Ministry of

Cooperation (Sahakarita Mantralaya) vide notification under the
approval of Hon'ble President of lndia through a Gazette
Notification No. CG-DL-E-O6O72O2L-228L48 dated 6'h July, 2OZ:..
ln view of the above Notification, the proposal of entrusting the
position of President, General Council of CICTAB to Secretary,
Ministry of Cooperation, Govt. of lndia and Chairman, Managing
Committee of CICTAB to Additional Secretary, Ministry of
Cooperation, Govt. of lndia was considered by the General
Council. The resolution was passed unanimously.

Since, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers welfare, Govt. of lndia has

played a vital role in the formation of CICTAB in 1983 and taking
care of Agriculture & Farmers welfare, the proposal of including
Joint Secretary (Credit), Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare
as member of Generat Council as well as Managing Committee of
CICTAB was approved.

The meeting ended with a vote of thanks to the Chair.
