Social Media Brings Us Together

Abstract
Social media is one of the technological developments that
has contributed great in providing convenience for humans
to communicate and socialize. Social media mostly
provides facilities and applications which make the youth
enjoy their time longer in using social media. Social media
can bring positive and also negative impact to us. If you
use social media wisely, then you will get the positive
impacts. For example, social media can makes us closer
with someone even they live far away from us. Social
media has helped us a lot to do anything especially to
communicating and interacting with other people. In here,
we believe that social media can gives us positive impacts
and brings. And we will explain why we said that social
media can brings us together.

Background
As time goes by, social media has become something that
almost everyone use everyday. Social media can help
people to communicate with other people easily. Social
media is an online platform which people use to
build social networks or social relations with other people
who share similar personal or career interests, activities,
backgrounds or real-life connections (W. Akram, R. &
Kumar, 2017). Many people are using their laptop, tablet,
and handphone to check updates from their family, friends,
and other people on social media. Social media allow us to
have conversations, share information, and interact with
other people even that people is not live around us and live
far away from us. Communication in social media is not
limited by distance, time, and space. It could happen
anywhere, anytime, without having a face to face talking.

Social media can be changed by time and rearranged by

its creators, or in certain sites, it can be changed by a
community. In addition, social media also provides and
forms new ways of communicating. As was known before
the popularity of social media, most people communicate
by telephone calls via cellphones. But now with the
existence of social media, people tend to communicate
through chat services or send messages through social
media.

Discussion
For indonesian people especially teenagers, social media
seems become an addiction. There is no day without
opening social media. They opened social media almost
everyday and everytime. Social media is used to see
updates from other people and communicate with them.
Social media that people often use is instagram, twitter,
facebook, line, whatsapp, and many other social media.

Social media is an online platform which people use to

build social networks or social relations with other people
who share similar personal or career interests, activities,
backgrounds or real-life connections (W. Akram, R. &
Kumar, 2017).
Social media removes boundaries in socializing. In social
media there is no limit of space and time, they can
communicate whenever and wherever they are. It is
undeniable that social media has a great influence in one's
life. Someone who is originally small can become big with
social media, and vice versa.

As we said before, we believe that social media can bring

positive impacts. Social media can bring us closer to other
people and brings us together with them. Social media can
be the place for us to communicate easily with other
people. In this social media era, long distance are no
longer a big problem because we can still interact with
other people at any time and any where even they live far
away from us. Also, in social media we can interact with
everyone including our favorite artist. We can interact with
them from social media.

So we can see that social media can bring us closer with

anyone. Including someone that we don’t know before.
Like an artist or famous people. We can see their life
update from social media. And if we live far away from
someone we can also know their updates and
communicate with them easily from social media.

Conclusion
So, we can conclude that social media is an online
platform to build social networks. in social media we can
do many things. social media can brings us closer and
brings us together with other people by communicate from
the social media and interact with that people. We can
interact with many people without meet them face to face.
That can makes us together and closer.
