ADVENTUROUS JOURNEY: Practice Journey
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Day 1
First aid
It can be given by anyone, anywhere, anytime by everyone.
There will always be a guide instructing us. During any emergency all the teammates know how to make
a stretcher and carry the injured one. Nobody should wear new shoes as it can cause shoe bites. The
most common problem can be choking on food and sunburn.
Observation
We have to make the slightest observation we can make and note it by
making notes , making sketches , taking photographs , facts finding from the local .We can note that by
watching their example if they are brightly coloured animals or brightly coloured fruits we have to avoid
them. We have to remember some things like we have to be well dressed, stay calm and vigilant etc.
There points that we have to report after the journey like the aim of journey introduction, activity
undertaken etc.

Day 2
Knowing about the AJ
We got to know about our journey like when we will start? ,how much we will trek?, what about our food?,
where to live? etc.
Team building
We were told the real value of our teammates and how important they are. We were told this by a few
activities like in the second activity there were groups of 10 each. All the group had to hold each other's
hand and pass the hula hoop without breaking the chain. We understood that for a victory communication
and coordination are important.

Preliminary Round
In this session our physical capacity was tested. We were given many instructions by our respected
teachers. We were instructed to make a route with our school campus and do a practice journey. We
started with 4 rounds of the basketball court and then moved towards our school building of 5 floors with
staircases on both side and went in a zigzag spiral completing one floor after the other. After coming
back to the ground floor, we repeated the process with the 2 other buildings in our school and finally
concluded by a last round of our massive basketball courts.

ADVENTUROUS JOURNEY: Qualifying Journey
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Day 1 – Boarding Time- 10th November’2021

It was a great sunny day and a Wednesday, it was a quite low start for me because we had
report at 6:30 am in the morning in our school. We started leaving around 7:15 and left the
school at 7:30.
Bus Journey
The bus journeys are always fun and this was too. At start we were very lazy but with
some
time all came in mood and started talking. Then we decided to play games, some started
singing, some started dancing and we never understood that how come we reached so
fast.
Reached Ramtek
We reached Nagardhan fort at 9:30 am. We explored the amazing Nagardhan fort from
outside
and the instructors there gave us a small brief about the fort. Then we started our first trek
from
the fort to our campsite which was around 10 km. We thought in beginning that this trek
might
be easy but it was very tough although there were many provisions made for us like water,
fruits, biscuits etc. As this trek was from the middle of the town we saw many local shops,
some
cows, dogs, goats, hens, pigs etc. As we moved further we saw many cotton fields,
different
types of flowers and many water bodies like Gandhi Sagar Lake. It actually took around 2
hours
and we were in the campsite at 12 pm.
Camp Training- This training was a revision of what we learnt at the preliminary round. It
started
at 1 pm which included tent making, types of knots and a theory of rules. Then we had our
lunch at 2:30 pm. The lunch was super tasty and we enjoyed a lot. Then till 5 pm we had
free
time to play and have rest. At 5:30 we got our tents in which tent members were decided
by the
teachers by a chit system. I was lucky that I got my friends as my tent mates.
Evening session
For the evening session I was very excited. The first thing was star gazing for which we
were
taken near the lake at 7:30 pm. The lake was around 2 km from the campsite and it was
fun
going in groups using our torch. Once we reached we observed many constellations like
pole
star, ursa major, Cassiopeia etc. The instructor gave us a complete detail for these
constellations. Then we returned from the lake at 9 pm and had our dinner which was also
very
delicious. There were slow songs which were being played and many of us were dancing
and
enjoying. Then we had a small born fire session where everyone was chilling. Then
everyone
went to sleep.
Day 2-11TH November’2021
Morning sessions
ADVENTUROUS JOURNEY: Qualifying Journey
We had our wakeup call at 5 am. Till 6:30 we had to freshen up and get ready. Then we were
served tea and biscuits and then we went again near the lake at 7 am for warm up exercises. I
had never seen such types of exercises but they were efficient and they warmed us up. We
also played some games like London Bombay statue. Then we returned from there and had our
breakfast at 8:30 am. We were given an hour to get ready for our next trek. At 9:30 we started
our journey towards the Ramtek ram mandir. The route was from the middle of the town and we
saw the market area. Then we had to climb many stairs more than 300 stairs. Once we reached
the temple we worshipped and explored the temple. Then we took some group pictures and
had saw many monkeys. We also had many local snacks which were very delicious and cheap
in price. Then we visited Triulkam View point where Kalidas wrote Meghdutta. After sometime
our instructor forgot the route and we were almost lost for an hour or two. Then the trek was
slow we all sat in groups and played some games because at last there was a 150 metres
steep slope which we had to face to reach our campsite. When our turn came we all were very
scared but this was the when we had to show the real teamwork. I helped many of my mates to
complete the slope. There was another we all were out of water and we were very thirsty and
hungry and at the mountain top it was impossible to have the arrangements for water. In that
thin slope we had to walk in a line if any mistake by anyone was made everyone had to face it.
After we completed this journey we were once again near the lake and we were not in the state
to walk so our dear teachers helped us and bought our buses there. Then we sat in the bus and
went to our campsite back.
Evening session
We reached at our campsite around 5:30 pm and had our lunch which was so necessary. The
lunch was very lively as some songs were being played in the background. After all we had
trekked for around 7-8 hours. The instructors were very proud of us. They appreciated us a lot.
Then we had our group pictures and we were set to leave. We left our campsite at 6:30 pm and
reached Nagpur at 9pm. we learned a lot and made many new friends. After completing the
adventure journey, I felt like a better man and a sense of achievement washed over me. It was
a truly difficult task but the fruit fulfilled the hardship.

Divisha has completed approximately 25kms of trekking satisfactorily. The Preliminary trainings had indeed
helped her to deal with adverse challenging situations. Techniques to survive in the wild have been imbibed.
She was very eager and energetic to do all the tasks. She proved to be a good team leader. She proved
herself to be very resilient throughout the adventurous journey from 10/11/2021 to 11/11/2021
