B. Introduction of today’s lesson
So, we have already tackled about what
happen during the 21st of September in 1972.
Which is? Anyone in the class?
The declaration of Martial Law.

Very good! Can anyone in the class

summarize what we have learned during our
last meeting?
About the declaration of Martial Law and
Yes Mark? how President Ferdinand Marcos controlled
and affected the economy of the Philippines.

Very good, thank you Mark. We have tackled

about the media restrictions, debts of the
Philippines and the military forces that was
being controlled by the former President
Ferdinand Marcos and the effects of those in
the Philippine economy.

But for today we will be tackling about the

human rights during Martial Law and the start
of the People Power Revolution.
C. Building new knowledge
Let me ask you a question, in the society we
live in how do you thing human rights are The human rights in our society today is one
of the important things every citizen have and
being treated? each and every one of us is giving it so much
importance and respect.
Yes Dean?

Very good Dean. Our human rights is

something we must cherish and the right
every citizen must have. But what if I tell you
that during the Martial Law the government
and military officers don’t give any
importance about the human rights of every
citizen. Everyone who talked back to the
government where being tortured the
militaries where just shooting random
innocent people on the streets and poverty
during Martial Law is chronic. People are
forced to hide for days because there were
already bullets on their name once they come
out.

Due to having oppressed freedom and the

abuse the citizen are encountering everyday in
their lives is the turning point for them to
revolt behind the government. And that is
where The People Power Revolution started.
The People Power Revolution is not all about
the Marcos vs Aquino, it is about fighting for
freedom in 22 year long of dictatorship and
abuse.
In order to further understand the People
Power Revolution, I will be presenting a
video that discusses the real purpose of Yes ma’am!
People Power.
