Task 3: According to UN Secretary-General António Guterres “We need to turn the pandemic recovery into a real
opportunity to do things right for the future.” Choose any of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and
relate such to the contents of Module 1. Then, discuss that both are vital for a recovery that leads to greener, more
inclusive economies, and stronger, more resilient societies.
Our industries and infrastructures form the foundations for our industrialized and modernized world as technology
continues to develop and evolve at a rapid pace. Technological advancement is essential for developing long-term
solutions to both economic and environmental issues. Sustainable development can be facilitated by promoting
sustainable industries and investing in scientific research and innovation. We can achieve this by implementing the ninth
sustainable development target, "Build resilient infrastructure, promote equitable and sustainable industry, and nurture
innovation."
Electromagnetic radiation contains a broad array of energies, as well as life on Earth, whether or not it has been
industrialized. It pervades all aspects of human life, and current communications technology and medical services are
particularly reliant on one or more of its manifestations. Electromagnetic radiation pervades everyday life, and with
proper industrialization, we may achieve more equitable economies and resilient societies. Slow economic growth,
poverty, a shortage of food, water, and energy are all challenges that can be remedied with good infrastructure in many
countries. Infrastructure investment and innovation are critical drivers of economic growth and development during this
recovery phase.
The global epidemic has brought to light and burdened us with a variety of challenges and problems in our
country and around the world. It stifled a lot of our potential and capacities, which could have helped us deal with the
various challenges we had at the start of the pandemic. "We need to transform the pandemic recovery into a real
opportunity to do things right for the future," says UN Secretary-General António Guterres. We can determine the identity
of our future by how we turn the tables on our road to recovery from this pandemic. We can not only recover from this
catastrophe, but we can also put our plans and ideas into action, leading to a greener sustainable environment, a more
inclusive economy, and a stronger, more resilient society.

Bonus

1. Name the city in one of the 2 countries that are trending since last week where the world’s worst nuclear
disaster in history both in cost and casualties happened.

Answer: Chernobyl, Ukraine

2. Identify: Signed by Pres. Rodrigo Duterte last Feb 28, 2022 to include nuclear power in the country’s energy
mix and look into the reopening of the mothballed Bataan Nuclear Power Plant.

Answer: Executive Order No. 164
