1. Activity Description
Use Genial.ly to plan and present an academic activity demonstrating the integration
of Grammar Translation Method with the Communicative Approach. Use only three
slides:
Slide 1: topic and objective
Slide 2: description
Slide 3: resources and references
Step 2: Reflection
Write a reflection in which you argue about the following statement:

“Translation has progressively lost ground as an activity in language learning,
especially in the last few decades. With the advent of the communicative approach,
translation was virtually banned from the classroom and deemed unsuitable”

Focus your reflection on how to avoid the use of the mother tongue in English Class.
Relate your reflection to the contents of the course highlighting advantages and
disadvantages of translating in the classroom. (500 words) Cite and add references
according to APA.
Step 3: Submission
In a word/pdf document, write your name, course, group number, the name of the
activity, the link to the genial.ly presentation and the reflection and submit it through
the evaluation environment.
In the Evaluation Environment, the student must: submit the final document through
the link Task 3 – Activity Design.

indicated in this activity guide.
Follow APA standards, taking into account that concepts develop that are not
authored by students are mandatory. Remember to use citation.
Be respectful of your peers' time and participate in the forum at least one week
before the activity closes.

the activity. with arguments based on the contents of the course. The
student demonstrates some degree of engagement with the
ideas presented.
Low level: The student does not support the reflection with
arguments based on the contents of the course. The student
demonstrates little engagement with the ideas presented.
