With these activities, you are expected to achieve the following learning
outcome:

• To describe theories and ideologies that have influenced language teaching,


through the creation of appealing and creative graphic organizers.

The activities consist of:

Activity 1:
Go to the forum in the Learning Environment and make your contributions about the
concept of the term Didactics of English. For that, post what you think this field
makes reference to, what it studies, and so on. You can read about this term and
share the information in the forum.

Activity 2:
Read the document “Theories of teaching in language teaching”, found in the
Learning Environment, UNIT 1, and once you have understood and internalized the
contents, create a graphic organizer to describe the theories for language
teaching presented in the document. Make sure you identify the theories in the
document and present them in the organizer in a clear, creative and summarized
way.

The graphic organizer might be a concept map, mind map, idea wheel, idea web, etc.
On the web you can find many sites to create these tools.

For the development of the activity consider that:

In the Initial Information Environment, you must check the course agenda
(activities, dates…)
In the Learning Environment, you must check the syllabus of the course, read the
suggested reference in Unit 1, and participate in the forum opened for the purposes
of this guide.
In the Evaluation Environment, you must submit the final document containing the
activities proposed in this guide.

2. General Guidelines for the Development of Evidences to Submit

For Individual evidences, consider the following:

• You must consider the feedback provided by your mates and professor in the
forum to improve the final work. Upload to the evaluation environment the
improved version of your work.
• Make sure the paper is complete, well-presented and organized. This will
facilitate the evaluation.
• Before submitting the requested product, you should check that it meets all the
requirements mentioned in this activity guide and suggested by your tutor in the
discussion forum.

Please keep in mind that all individual or collaborative written products must comply
with the spelling rules and presentation conditions defined in this activity guide.

Regarding the use of references, consider that the product of this activity must
comply with APA style.

In any case, make sure you comply with the rules and avoid academic plagiarism.
You can review your written products using the Turnitin tool found in the virtual
campus.
