Essential Question:
· How can I become more informed and knowledgeable about my options for my life after high school?

Curricular Competencies:
· Analyze internal and external factors to inform personal career-life choices
for post-graduation planning
· Explore possibilities for preferred personal and education/employment futures, using creative and innovative
thinking
· Know about diverse post-graduation possibilities, including personal, educational, and work options
· Practice post-graduation budget planning

Graduating students usually have a variety of options to contemplate. To help you with this process, you
will need to complete each of following sections of the Transition Plan, which will hopefully allow you to better
understand the path that interests or most interests you to follow after graduation.

Follow these steps:

1) Complete Your Career Plans (You will need a Plan A & B)

2) Next, complete the following two options:

 Post-secondary education or training (You’ve already completed most of this research with your PSI
Research Assignment)
 Travel / Gap year

3) Finally, complete the section called: Working full-time and living on your own.

4) Submit your Transition Plan online through Teams before the deadline (December 9th) and post your
completed Transition Plan to your CLC Portfolio Page on your website.

employment of computer programmers will decline by 10 percent between
2021 and 2031. However, despite this decline, they project 9,600 new
openings for computer programmers each year due to workers who will
transfer to other occupations or retire.

-Lifestyle factors: Computer programmers write, modify, and test code and
scripts that allow computer software and applications to function properly.
Since you seat all the time for programming, you could get physical and
mental health challenges such as headache, back pain, migraines, eye strain,
loss of motivation, trouble focusing, etc.

-Advancement opportunities: Many go on to become software developers or

computer systems analysts. Common promotions include managerial
positions — such as senior developer, software architect or chief
information officer — where the programmer is managing a team of
programmers or testers.
