STEP 1: Gathering Information

 Has neighboring structure

 Used tempered glass for façade and partitions
 Utilized Narra wood for floor
 Unpolished Marble Stones for accent walls

ANALYZING THE DESIGN

 Expensive materials
 High maintenance
 Functionality

ALTERNATIVE SOLUTION

To cut the cost but to gain the same result

 TEMPERED GLASS
1. Single glazed glass
 NARRA WOOD
1. Tanguile wood
 MARBLE STONE
1. Granite

REVIEW AND EVALUATE ALTERNATIVES

1. Single Glazed Glass

Since the structure is located on a subdivision, there are limited vehicles passing. The double
glazing is intended for heat and sound proofing. Instead, single glazed glass can be used because
the house is already fully airconditioned and noise is not an issue considering the place.
2. Tanguile Wood
Known as Philippine Mahogany, it has a beautiful, reddish sheen that stands out when used on
doors, cabinetry, and furniture pieces. Used as a substitute for Narra because of its cheaper
cost. When it comes to treatability, just like Narra, Tanguile is fungi and termite resistant.
