GULF
A Gulf is a deep inlet of Ocean or Sea surrounded by land and with one opening
to wider Ocean
Gulfs vary in size, shape and depth
They are large and deep that bays
Gulf are sometimes also connected to strait
IT IS SAID THAT GULFS ARE FORMED BY MOVEMENTS OF EARTH’S
TECTONIC PLATES OR CRUST

PERSIAN GULF:
Is almost an enclosed sea
A part of Indian Ocean
Lies between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran
241,000 square KM wide
Opens into Arabian sea
And has high level of saltines
Hudson Bay
Largest enclosed bay
Located in Canada

Bays are also called Lagoons, Sounds and bights
Bight is a long gradual curve formed on shoreline
The Great Australian Bight is one of the largest bights in the world.

STARIT OR CHANNEL
A strait is a narrow waterway that flows between two lands and connects two
large water bodies.
For Example:
The strait of Gibraltar
Allow water to flow between Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Ocean.

Island is a land that is surrounded by water
Large Island:

2) New Guinea
