Week 5

Overview
This week you will recognize the essence of forecasting in achieving the business goal;
explain the concept of productivity and capacity; and determine how to compute
productivity and capacity.
Expectations

1. Read the required supporting materials and complete the activities in this learner
guide. Participate in the required class discussion in Google Classroom.
2. Take note of any concept, topic, or terminology that you are not familiar with.
Use the Stream feature in Google Classroom to participate or initiate discussions
with the rest of the class.
3. Accomplished what is asked in the learner’s task and submit on or before the
end of the week.
4. Manage your time wisely. You should be able to complete the readings and
activities in this learner guide in one week.

can also search for other references (articles or videos) online that will
help you better understand the reading materials. You can also check
the reading materials uploaded in the google classroom for Week five.

After watching the video about forecasting and capacity planning, answer the
following questions,
1. In your opinion, what is the importance of forecasting and capacity planning in
one manufacturing company? Explain your answer in 200 words.
2. Cite one example of forecasting and capacity planning in 4 big companies
(Choose one: Unilever, Nestle, Proctor and Gamble, and Colgate and
Palmolive.) Explain your answer in 200 words.

Upload your output in Google Classroom. 

1. Log in to Google Classroom and click the Classwork tab.

2. Click the Week 5 section.

3. Click Learners Task, then View Assignment.

4. Under the Your work section on the upper-right side, click the Add or Create
button.

5. Click Google Drive or File, depending on where your file is saved.

6. Locate your file and click Add.

7. Your uploaded file should show under Your work.  

8. Click Turn In and confirm.

9. The status of the assignment should change to Turned In.

This is the end of week 5 activities. Do not proceed to the next section until you
have completed all activities from the previous section.
