1 Videoconferencing Tool for
Distance Learning

What’s In

The Department of Education implemented different learning delivery modalities that

schools can utilize depending on the COVID-19 restrictions and the context of the

2
learners in the school or locality. One of the learning modalities it is trying to adapt
is distance learning.

Distance Learning refers to a learning delivery modality where learning takes place
between the teacher and the learners who are geographically remote from each other
during instruction. Now, how does learning take place in this new learning situation?
What are the tools used to realize distance learning? How to acquire and utilize these
distance learning tools?

What’s New

Videoconferencing is now considered as an advantageous way to connect teachers

and learners and continue the learning instruction because of the Department of
Health (DOH) restrictions due to COVID-19 pandemic. Although it is one of the
options to continue education as of this time, but students need to adopt this new
learning situation since it can be a great asset in enhancing the quality of education
that will also help students in the near future in their individual field of work.

In this lesson, you will be taught how to utilize Google Meet application as one of the
videoconferencing tools for distance learning.

in print or digital format, whichever is applicable in the context of the learner, and
other learning resources. Learners access electronic copies of learning materials on
a computer, tablet PC, or smartphone. Computer-based application is one that the
learners can access Electronic Learning Materials (ELMs) like Google Classroom
which is free and easy to use.

In this lesson, you will be taught how to access e-learning materials and work with
the teachers given activities using Google Classroom.
