C2 - STEM
Combined Gas Law
• 3 gas laws combined together
• These laws are Boyle’s, Charles’ and Gay-Lussac’s
(can also be known as Amonton’s) Laws
Combined Gas Law
Combined Gas Law
Ideal Gas Law
• Developed by Benoit Paul Emile Clapeyron
• An ideal gas has the following characteristics:
• 22.4 L volume
• 1 mol amount of substance
• 273 K temperature
• 1 atm pressure
Ideal Gas Law
Sample Problems
• 1. A certain gas has a pressure of 780 torr at a volume of 22.56 L and
has a temperature of 289 K. If the volume of this gas increased to
22.69 L, what will be the temperature? The pressure decreased into
760 torr.
Sample Problems
• 2. He is placed in a container that has a volume of 30 L. The
temperature is measured at 300 K and the pressure is around 1.22
atm. Calculate the pressure if the volume and temperature changed
to 29 L and 310 K respectively.
Sample Problems
• 3. Calculate the amount of substance of a gas that has a volume of
112 L, temperature of 1365 K and a pressure of 5 atm.
Sample Problems
• 4. What is the volume of a gas that has a pressure of 405.2 kPa if the
amount of substance is 4 mol and a temperature of 1092 K?
