is an electron that is associated with an atom, and that can
participate in the formation of a chemical bond
Ionization Energy
is the quantity of energy that an isolated, gaseous atom in the
ground electronic state must absorb to discharge an electron.
Electronegativity
is a measure of the attraction of an atom for bonding electrons in
molecules compared to that of other atoms.
