Applying Scientific Models to Decision Making
Assignment: Determine what you should do. After you have made your decision,
get together in a group (four to six people) and share your resolutions. Were your
decisions the same? How did you approach the problem solving differently from
others in your group? Was a rational systematic problem-solving process used, or
was the chosen solution based more on intuition? How many alternatives were
generated? Did some of the group members identify alternatives that you had not

Answer:
When making decisions, each person has their own ideas and beliefs. Each
team member should be encouraged to speak up so that others can express their
thoughts and feelings and so that everyone's opinions are respected. Make your
decision obvious and provide a detailed justification of what you hope to accomplish.
A leader should take a distinct approach to problem solving by applying rational,
methodical problem solving to a step-by-step procedure because a leader plans
before acting. We must first define the problem and the objective. The next step is to
gather information or data, assess it, weigh our options, and develop solutions.

Thinking Styles
In small groups, examine how each individual in the group thinks? did you have a
majority of individuals with right-or left-brain dominance? Did group members self-
identity with one or more of the four thinking styles noted by Adams (2003)? Did
gender seem to influence thinking style or brain hemisphere dominance? What types
of thinkers were represented in group members' families? Did most group members
view variances in a positive way?

Answer:
Yes. Even after accounting for gender differences in size, the adult male brain
is roughly 10% larger than the adult female brain. This difference, however, does not
appear to be predictive of intelligence or decision-making abilities. The amygdale, a
brain area, appears to be important. Women appear to have stronger links between
the amygdale and the areas of the brain that control language and higher-order
thinking. This could be one of the reasons why women are more likely than men to
express their emotions and analyze things vocally. Right-brained people are more
concerned with aesthetics, emotion, and creativity, whereas left-brained subjects are
more concerned with logical thinking, analysis, and correctness.

I have decided to pursue a career in nursing. You must first complete the
required schooling in order to achieve this. After that, the NCLEX Test must be
passed. The last step is to submit an application for a license in the state where you
intend to work. This is a fair definition of the administrative guy since he puts his own
satisfaction before getting the greatest result. This decision-maker has no problem
with making the current situation simpler. In other words, he does not recognize and
consider all other options before performing his preferred choice.
In contrast to the economic man, who maximizes—selects the best option from all of
his available options—administrative man satisfices, or looks for a course of action
that is acceptable or "good enough."

facilities. Additionally, you have been offered a charge nurse position by your present

that this is also a possibility. You are self-aware enough to know that it is time
for a change, but which change, and how should you make the decision?

In such a situation, I would make decisions based on both problem-solving


approaches. Observation is essential to determine the person's preferences because
communication is not always vocal. Because past choices are a reflection of a
person's character and beliefs, they also influence their choices in the future.
Contrarily, people strive to avoid repeating the same errors as doing so will lead to
favorable outcomes. By having both high potential benefits and high potential bad
outcomes, risk-taking influences decision-making.

Leadership and management are equally important in nursing practice, as


evidenced by the duties of nursing professionals who will soon supervise nursing
employees, oversee the organizational framework of the medical process, and lead
nursing teams in providing patient care. Knowing more about these topics will help
nurses provide safe, efficient, and high-quality care. The novice manager should
educate themselves on management responsibilities and learn how to develop their
leadership skills.

Discuss some work routines carried out in health care organizations that seem to be

During hospitalization, minimize clinical mistake

Everyone makes mistakes, and when they're committed by medical


professionals, they could be lethal. You should be accountable, competent and
skilled, empathetic and honest as a leader on my team. When established practice
guidelines are not followed, procedures and treatments that are meant to heal can
result in major consequences, such as surgical site infections and improperly
administered drugs.

Answer:

A successful leader possesses the following traits: wisdom, moral judgment,


independence, adaptability, creativity, cooperation, alertness, self-confidence,
emotional balance control, strong communication skills, excellent decision-making
abilities, multitasking prowess, creative problem-solving skills, and role model status.

Due to a lack of knowledge and experience as a student ready to graduate, I


can't state that I now have the abilities to be a great leader, but I'm convinced that
with time those abilities will manifest. Anyone may become a leader, in my opinion.
They are formed and deliberately developed over the course of a lifetime since being
a leader requires a lot of work, constant learning, and self-development. further

What’s your leadership style?

Define your predominant leadership style. Ask those who work with you if in their
honest opinion this is indeed the leadership style that you use most often. What style
of leadership do you work best under? What leadership style best describes your
present or former managers?

Answer:

I consider my primary leadership style to be transformational leadership,


which is an act of leader-follower interaction and one of the first to suggest that both
leaders and followers have the ability to raise one another to higher levels of
motivation and morality. It is a leadership tactic that influences how social institutions
and individuals function. With the ultimate goal of converting followers into leaders, it
optimally brings about significant and positive change in the followers. When applied
properly, transformational leadership raises the output, morale, and motivation of

Assignment: Leadership is needed to keep this situation from deteriorating further,

clear as to who you consider your followers to be and what you expect from each of
them.

In this instance, I'll explain why we don't allow situations like that in the
hospital and the consequences of what they're doing. Next, ask yourself if such
conditions actually exist. All patients must be informed about the policies and
procedures of the hospital before to admission so that they can decide whether or

right. People who have insurance do not have it for free; they must pay for it out of
their own pockets or invest money earned from their work. As a result, I believe they

The law that applies to this case relates to the doctor's negligence. Using the
elements of professional negligence listed in Table 5.3, if the standard of care was
not met, there was a breach of duty because the doctor insisted on monitoring the
patient even though the on-duty nurse was informing the doctor about the situation.

where the doctor is not performing his duties.

client, professional negligence occurs when that professional violates their duty of
care to that client. The common standards that everybody can anticipate from a
service provider in a particular business are referred to in this context as the duty of
care.

MY PLANS AFTER I GRADUATE

A lot of people were asking me what are my plans after I graduate as a BSN
degree holder, and again I will say that I still don’t have any concrete nor sure plans
for my future. I’m not still sure about what my future would looks like, or if I still have
a future. The only thing I want right now is to focus in the present time and how am I
going to surpass this sadness I’ve been feeling right at the very moment.

To be honest, I’m still not in love with the course I’ve been to, and I don’t see
it as my future career. I don’t want to push myself into limits because I’m actually in
the verge of breaking down and I keep contemplating if I have a future in this career.
Nursing is not for me, I don’t see that I can give my full force best in this job. I want to
care for others but not in this profession, I wanted to pursue my dream job so bad
but I was left with no choice but to finish my course because my parents want me to
finish the degree I’m not in love with.

That’s why again I will tell you for the last time that I don’t still have plans after
I graduate, because I don’t want to strain myself and think about the possibilities it
could bring in my life. Sorry to disappoint the person who is reading this, but I’m not
that kind of people who will demand an acceptance for my ideas and point of view.
