While reading this case, we figured out the two unethical and unlawful acts m top management.
First, Bribery is an effort to influence someone to do something for you in exchange for anything
Money, gifts, or whatever else they desire. In light of it, it might imply that bribery is highly
evident in the current situation. Giving the woman involved money to defend the senior
executive's egregiously immoral actions is unethical and evil since it contradicts justice and
fairness. One cannot be absolved of a crime simply because they are in a better place in the
afterlife, while the other is not in society. Someone who performed harmful conduct on purpose
needs to receive the proper punishment. No matter if you are managing in the legal profession,
community, the workplace, or any other area or atypical. Every person must act justly, accord
everyone their due, and uphold honesty and good faith, whether they are politicians, judges, or
regular employees.
Second, Sexual Harassment In context, sexual harassment can be committed by an employer or
any other a person having authority, influence, or moral ascendancy over another in a work or
training or education environment, demands, requests, etc., or otherwise requires any sexual
favor from the other, regardless of whether the employee or student, to accept the market, request
or requirement for submission that matter. In the given case, a woman is being sexually harassed
by a top-level senior executive of the company. There being a moral ascendency between the
senior executive and the woman employee established a clear case of sexual harassment, which
is sanctioned by law. Invoking your position or authority against your subordinate to gain sexual
favor is grossly immoral and unethical. It is the responsibility of the employer to prevent
workplace sexual harassment and not perpetrate or tolerate it. The workplace must always be a
safe place for employees, regardless of rank or status. Sexual harassment is unacceptable. Hence,
it must be condemned, not tolerated. Therefore, we should learn from this that being assertive is
dangerous for every human being. We are human, but it's hard to act as a human.

Case Study

NSPE's ethical standards can be used to assess the Bhopal gas tragedy. Every code of ethics starts and
ends with the public's safety, health, and welfare. All of these were disregarded in the case of the Bhopal
catastrophe. The facility was of poor quality, and there weren't enough instruments available, which led to
the leak. The problems were too much for two of the three primary safety mechanisms to handle. Several
months prior to the catastrophe, the flare tower, water sprays that were supposed to keep the methyl
isocyanate cool and prevent chemical reactions, and a refrigeration unit were all shut down. The general
people was never informed about MIC and safety precautions. The plant's placement so near to the
community is is a matter of ethics that has to be discussed. Another NSPE recommendation is to "provide
services solely in areas of their competence."
After the leak started, the pipe that had been inadequately sealed by a worker whose training did not meet
standards and who was given the go-ahead to do so by the inexperienced supervisors washed away. This
indicates the staffing shortage at the plant. Additionally, it was found that jobs were lost and training
programs were cut from six to just fifteen months in order to reduce costs. The general public was never
made aware of the MIC or other substances. Infrastructure and medical services in the city were never
prepared for a catastrophe of that scope. "Avoid Deceptive Practices" is another NSPE code of ethics. The
parent corporation investigated the Bhopal factory and produced a damning report. However, due to the
company's cost-cutting strategy and emphasis on saving money, the required maintenance and
improvements were never carried out. The failure of Unions Carbide and its management to act
honorably, responsibly, morally, and legally after the incident was revealed by their denial of guilt and
claim that human mistake in the workplace was to blame.

The incident of the Bhopal gas leak demonstrates the need for ethical considerations in all engineering
designs. For any project, the safety and risk assessments should come first. Ignorance of these problems
could result in a repeat of the Bhopal Gas Tragedy.
