Software Release Date: February, 2020

Summary
This is a minor release containing enhancements and bug fixes.

The Enhancements section below lists important improvements. The Bugs section lists bug fixes that we
have implemented.

Further bug fixes and enhancements are ongoing. New Features for HRS 10.5 are described in the New
Features HRS 10.5 document (open from the HRS main menu Help option or download from the CGG
CGG Client portal (geosoftwaresupport.cgg.com).

Limitations
When using Linux, “Old Versions” processes only run on 32-bit computers. These are accessed from the
Project Manager’s Processes list.

Enhancements

Visualization display is both clearer for small data values and faster.
5312303 AVO Attribute Additional computed volume combinations can now be output.
Volume Select the volumes on the parameters panel's Advanced tab.
5172833 Emerge Training When validating DFNN parameters, parameters can now be tested
for number of hidden layers or nodes, or L2 and L1 ranges.
5249003 Emerge Training The DFNN validation error plot now scales the displayed data to
appropriate minimum and maximum values.
5037493 GeoVation Speed performance has been improved.
Connection
4547323 Geoview The Petrel Connection Error message is now more clear and includes
a possible solution to successfully connect.
5163253 Help The new Multi-node Processing (MNP) feature is now described in
Help.
5164843 Help The new Advanced Seismic Conditioning workflow is now described
in Help.
3491872 Installation The HRS Installation Guide now correctly describes where to find the
license manager executable file.
5246193 License The Python Ecosystem is now included for maintained clients. A
separate license is required to use the Python Ecosystem.
5383463 LithoSI The "Save session every" option on the Parameters tab is now
automatically selected when a new session is created or an existing
session is opened.
5112202 MNP Processes can now be run using MNP when the user computer and
the cluster use WindowsOS.
5112212 MNP The user now provides authentication details for running an MNP
job.
2992513 Well Display Even when there are many logs displayed in the Wells scene, the well
tops now display in the left-most Tops track.

Bugs

5240303 Convolution A new option has been added giving the user more control. When
selected, the wavelet amplitudes are normalized so that the input is
similar to the output. In the Seismic Convolution Parameters dialog,
select Normalize Wavelets (selected by default).
5206914 Create Depth Log The "Create Depth Log" process can now use the mudline value for
the calculation when a processing range is applied.
3978732 Cross Plotting When “Multiple Wells” is used for the Cross Plot Logs process,
changing the domain no longer resets the tops to "No Match" when
the user switches between the Wells tab and the Parameters tab.
5162823 Cross Plotting The “Peak sample points filtering” Plot Option now works correctly
for section zone data.
5312493 Cross Plotting Cross plotting seismic volumes of geomechanical properties no
longer crashes the first time they are plotted.
5317852 Cross Plotting When the crossplot has no data displayed and a clustering or
classification option is selected, Geoview no longer crashes.
5358063 Cross Plotting When the show regression line option is selected and Apply clicked,
the regression line now displays on the cross plot.
5381103 Cross Plotting After data is normalized, the total least regression trend now aligns
better with the semi-major axis of the ellipse defined by the data
covariance matrix. The algorithm is also more robust when large
outliers exist in the data.
5263013 Data Explorer When the units in the Velocity Summary tab's "Data Selections" table
are changed, the new unit now displays correctly in the "Results"
tab.
5391983 Database The sampling domain is now assigned for logs created in the Python
Ecosystem.
5299122 Emerge Training When the input volume has discrete values (1,2,3, etc.), the curve
will now resample correctly when the new "Classification Volume
Mode" option is selected. This option is on the Parameters panel's
"Composite Trace" tab (open the panel by clicking the Parameters
button on the right side of the training Emerge scene).
5371243 Emerge Training After selecting an attribute in the Single Attribute Correlation Results
panel and clicking "Cross Plot" the first time, the crossplot display is
no longer blank. It correctly plots the attribute values.

Ecosystem domain when fetching a log with a depth-time conversion operation.
5200423 Inversion Vp, Vs, and Vp/Vs data are now output properly when the data
window ends at the last sample of the output display.
5335202 Inversion Analysis Geoview no longer crashes when a histogram for a crossplot is
created and no color key was selected or when the well was selected
as the color key.
5172512 Jason Integration HRS facies logs can now be identified by Jason Workbench.

5238962 LithoSI In HRS 10.4.2, for wells that contained logs at different sampling
rates, scatter plots used all the samples that existed on at least one
log. The samples for the other logs were interpolated. Now the
sampling rate of the first selected log (first row of the Classification
Data table) is used giving greater control to the user.
5290922 Log FRM On the In-Situ Fluid tab, the termperature is now correctly converted
after a message opens warning about exceeding the maximum value.
5231312, Map Display The scroll bars for panning a zoomed display have be re-

parameter now handles negative angles correctly.

their computer for MNP.
5355613 MNP The MNP Job Status now correctly updates from Running to Done
when the process has successfully finished.
5207723 Petrel When the message opens to inform the user that HRS cannot
connect to Petrel, the failed port is now removed from the
UserAvailablePorts.txt file.
5222193 Petrel Displaying on-the-fly seismic attributes using Quadrature Trace no
longer causes the program to crash.
5235812 Petrel One-way time TD curves imported from Petrel are now correctly
imported into HRS as two-way time values.
5161674 Petrel Link Multiple users can now connect to their projects when working on a
shared network or share a workstation.

 5192583 Petrel Link Attributes for Petrel surfaces can now be imported into HRS and
displayed in the 3D viewer. Each attribute is loaded as an HRS slice
(using the Import>Import Slices from Petrel option on the Project
Data list Slices tab).
4954003 Pro4D Multiple zones fail for the "Apply low Frequency Scalars" process.

5212402 Pro4D "3D Warping by Gaussian Correlation” now runs when using Batch.

5270124 ProAZ AVAz Modeling attributes are no longer output as null.

3722103 Process If zonesets are deleted or added in a crossplot window while the
Parameters "Create Data Slice from Crossplot Zones" process parameters panel is
Window open, the open process parameters panel now updates correctly
with the new zoneset information.
5248323 Project When an open old HRS project has a share_TMP_DIR_.dir folder, it
will now be deleted when the project is closed.
4384352 Project,Database For projects that include files created using GeoSI, Project>Save As
no longer results in a crash.
5333624 Rose Diagram On the Zones on Map tab, when "Draw temporary zones on the
Analysis map" is first selected, the user can immediately draw a rectangle
zone on the map display without selecting the shape from the
Interactive Rose Diagram menu. To draw a second zone, select the
shape from the menu.
5312323 Seismic Data The “Create Multiple2D Volume” feature no longer fails if one of the
Explorer volumes is missing from the project.
5054573 Seismic Seismic Python plugin now output secondary output volumes that
Processing have data. They are no longer empty.
5208713 Seismic The Stop button is now more responsive when running a compute

5214193 Seismic View The right-click option to open a trace data volume now correctly lists
volume names that include decimal points. Characters after the last
point are no longer truncated.

5393453 Seismic Window Moving the cursor across a seismic scene that is displaying horizons
is now faster.
5231223 Strata Model Stratigraphy specifications and horizon priority now update correctly
for M2D models. The model no longer resets to the default values.
5348083 Time-Depth The Time depth conversion process now runs faster with more than
Conversion one thread. The greatest speed improvement during testing was
found using 2 threads for pre-stack data and 6 threads for post-stack
data.

 5034593 View3D Seismic volumes again display their axes.

5212672 View3D After right-clicking and selecting Zones>Select Volumes, HRS no

longer hangs when the Crossplot Volume Parameters dialog opens.
5208172 Volume When the input data is time-limited, Empirical Mode Decomposition
Attributes no longer crashes.
5208573 Volume The information statement at the bottom of the Short Time Fourier
Attributes Transform Process Parameters panel is more clear.
5339023 Wavelet Wavenumber values for bandbass and Ricker wavelets now correctly
handle digits after the decimal.
5151923 Wavelet Wavelets extracted from PS seismic data now correctly report "PS"

Surface as the datum now records the datum type correctly.
5131812 Well Import When a log unit is not recognized, a confirmation dialog now opens
for the user to decide whether to use the unit stated in the LAS file
or to stop loading (then return to the Log Settings tab to manually
enter the correct unit).
