My Future at Otero

When I am asked to think out my future my brain gets to rolling. Honestly, I kind of get

to dreaming about the possibilities I have if I start planning. It is crazy to think once you’re out

of high school you can do anything if you can afford it. College was my first plan, but where

would I go? As a small-town kid, I never thought I would be going anywhere on a rodeo

scholarship. However here I am. Now my future at Otero is a long stretch but with the help here

I can do it. My little plans are to make it to College Rodeo Finals as a freshman. However, my

academic plans are to maintain a C average grades. At Otero I am getting my associates of

science, then I am off to Colorado Northwestern community college to get certified for Dental

Hygiene. I know it is a long stretch, but I would love to be a traveling dental hygienist. Being in

the dental field opens many doors to help people who don’t have the sources others do.

Coming form an ag based family this is completely out of the ordinary. My thoughts are to keep

the rodeo and ranch work in my hobby list. My aunt always said you can do anything you want

if you can pay for it. So, for me that is how I base my life decisions. If I can pay to follow my

rodeo dream, then I can do it. Otero is the first of my step to the long stairwell to reach my

goal.
