Pre-Instruction Planning
Topic Stopping the Spread of Germs
PA Anchor/Standard or Standard - 10.1.K.D1 -Distinguish between healthy and
Eligible Content unhealthy behaviors.

Lesson Objectives The Students Will Be Able To demonstrate how to stop the
spread of germs in the classroom with at least 90% accuracy on
any given try.
Materials - Power point
- Handout
- Videos
- Sink / Soap
- Tissues
Planning for Learners Differentiation:
Modifications/Accommodations: Since one student is visually
impaired, I will make sure the handout is enlarged and put on
her black board device to allow better sight to the paper. The
paras will also help her when needed.
Lesson Presentation
Introduction - The lesson would start off with a couple questions.
(“What are Germs”, “Can we see germs?”)
- I will be the one asking those questions.
- Then I will explain that germs are all around us.
- They would then receive their handout. (Jase will pass
them out)
Sequence of activities - Next, we will go into the power point.
including assessments - We will go through each slide one at a time, while also
referencing the handout)
- During the power point, we will watch two videos on the
spreading of germs.
Lesson Wrap-up - The end activity would include each student having a
turn blowing their nose and then washing their hands at
the sink.
- One para would be at one sink, and I would be at the
other to monitor and make sure they are accomplishing
washing their hands for 20 seconds.
- Each student will count to 20 on their own. If they need
help I will count with them.
